Well Ive been meaning to start this for over 2yrs now and finally started.
This truck is one of the cleanest I've ever had and ZERO rust. Started with the interior a few months ago and getting new seat upholstery soon.
Going with:
B52's
4inch 52's up front
Home made shackle flip
32spline Np205 behind TH400
D60/D70 with 4.10s
37 SSR's

Clean truck, should look awesome as a 4wd. What receiver hitch did you use with that bumper?

If you need some inspiration check out my build thread, I almost have my 2wd to 4wd as a roller.

Started on the rear switching the 2wd to 4wd front spring brackets. Rivets SUCK!!
Then moved to the front. 2 bolts then it all drops but I have to brace up the oil pan to mock up a new engine Xmemner

There is no brand on the hitch. It came with the truck but beefy as hell going back 24in with 3 9/16 bolts on each side. Must be class3.
Holy Batman! Just went thru your 32page thread and you've got a good start.:waytogo:

Gotcha, I plan on putting the same setup on my truck.

Thanks for the props. :thumb: I will be watching this.

I'm planning on running DIYs B52 hangers. I hope they will work on a 2wd frame now that I think of it.

Looking forward to this build, I might add you probably will have to drill into your frame on 2holes if the b52 kit is the same holes as the 4wd mounts. I had to drill the frame for the 4wd mounts on my 2wd frame. It was almost all lined up just 2 holes had to be added.

You may also have to trim your fender, that inner lip on the fender but with the b52 kit, it should be ok moving it forward. Keep the pics coming!

Cool, thanks. Thats good to hear

I just love a good Sat of wrenching. Got a lot done. 2wd removed and B52's bolted on. Now its time to determine the shackle hanger hole location.

So, here is the deal. From left to right. 1st left tape marks the location where the tech thread says to drill new hole for the 52's. The middle tape is marking the stock location of shackle hanger and the right is 52inches straight back from front eye. I think it looks like a good location to drill the 2" hole. What you guys think? Am I looking at this all correctly?

I cant really put any weight on the springs just yet because the jacks are holding the engine mounts and I need to fab up a new Xmember.

Go for it and you can always fine tune it with the front hanger bolt location. Looks like you're right in the ballpark though.

ok I went for it but discovered something else I wasnt expecting. The frame width between the shackles. Anyone know the width between shackles on a 4wd frame? I cant get to my K5 this week to measure myself. I guess I'll just have to thin it down to make it work?

Its a 2wd thing.

Had to do the same thing on my crew cab as it was once a 2wd also.

EDIT: By the way, crew cab looks super nice!
