Can you hear the turbo?
That is the most important?
And does it smoke black also important?

Loud and loudHonest, this is a pretty loud engine. Louder then the 6bt. There needs to be some sound deadening done to make it a daily driver. When I drive it around like it is it sounds like a delivery truck or something.
Thanks, that is good to know. I haven't decided what to put my 4BTA into yet, but whatever it is I will be using a lot of insulation. I wonder where most of the noise eminates from, injectors? valve train?
Should probably do some research.

Anchorage is the only place that had emissions testing, not all of Alaska. My town has never had emissions requirements.
I've read that the majority of the noise comes from the valve covers and the oil pan. The reason is that those are the only thin metal parts of the engine. They say that if you sound deaden those actual parts plus your cab it will make a huge difference.

I'm sorry to point this out but this just sounds funny to me, it's basically saying, "if you just sound deaden those two parts, (oh, and plus your entire cab), then it will help reduce the sound." That's all you got to do? So which does more, sound deading those two parts, or only the whole cab?![]()
Excellent work by the way, keep it up. It's a lot more work to swap in something that never came in these rigs.
This is such an impressive build...![]()

Shipped?!? i thought you were going to drive it up there?
Man that thing is the epitomy of SICK!!!! (may not be the correct usage of grammer but WHO GIVES A $HIT!!! lol)
