I bet that place in Canada can make some or the guy on Facebook, New Boyz Square Body Rescue, probably has one.
Maybe you know something I don’t but I’m confused why you need the shark fin part? My 88 windows have those and the set of windows in my 73-75 doors don’t. The fin part helps it ride in the channel yes?Well check these sashes off the list (I hope). The QC on these is interesting. Both shark fins and how they are attached to the sashes are probably different by 1/8in to 1/4in before I took them apart. I went with the passenger side measurements for both of the "new" ones I made since that door was the nicest of the four doors I have. They're just weird. I get glass setting tape in soon so I'm going to at least install the door glass into them. I've never studied the sashes once installed in a truck, but I'm assuming they're must be some wiggle room on how the glass is installed laterally in the sash as well as range of motion for the rollers. If this ends up not working, they sell 74-76 truck sashes all day long on the internet. Let's hope I didn't waste my time.

Just for clarity's sake, 73 to 75 had the shark's fin. It was to give the glass a little more rigidity since it closed into the top. Also in case somebody rolled the window up a little bit when the top was off. You'll find that the first gen Blazers/Jimmys also had the shark's fin.Never mind, I’m probably getting my glass mixed up since I have 4 total and one is in the door. it makes sense that the full verts need the shark fins. One of my 73-75 doors glass doesn’t have the fin but they’re old doors who knows where the glass came from.
Gotcha, I figured that’s what it was for, probably one of those “not necessary but ideal to have” parts. I might have to fab one up since I only have one with the fin. Do they still make the fin ones? Didn’t see any after a quick search online.Just for clarity's sake, 73 to 75 had the shark's fin. They do not make the fins. That's why I had to restore these. They are extremely hard to find. They're not necessary but I thought it'd be kind of nice to have the peace of mind. I'd be pretty bitter if something happened and my new glass shattered.Gotcha, I figured that’s what it was for, probably one of those “not necessary but ideal to have” parts. That is called "ecoat", it is a very thin layer good enough to prevent flash rust on the new parts. Here's a good example of that weirdo coating that's on these parts.
Thanks. Absolutely fascinating. The technology must be better now than it was then because it sure wasn't anti-corrosive. It kind of reminds me of when people get their firearms dipped. I kind of figure there was some type of bath because I could see the run marks in the parts. That is called "ecoat", it is a very thin layer good enough to prevent flash rust on the new parts.
