89-ish K5 build. Beat cancer!!! Time for icecream!

3 Link front, leafs in the rear, 2.5" ADS Racing Shocks!
So I know its kinda opposite of what ck5 does, but I've been working on the little things while still enjoying using it. I replaced the trans mount with poly and that made a big difference. I touched up the bedliner, and sprayed the tailgate, and front firewall(that I could access). Put on the tcase bezel, and knob. I'll be replacing the motor mounts tonight, then rob is gonna come over and we will do cage to frame tie ins. This will allow me to do jumpy stuff with adam at the dunes next week. Hopefully I can keep the barn in the 70's this weekend with the little ac unit i have.

Oh and I start Chemo August 2nd.

This is a great platform for an expedition vehicle. Just throwin' that out there...

I thought I might do that but, I was going to tie it up higher. There is no good node to grab from on those angles.

That should be easily doable. If I have enough time. Rich will be here tomorrow with his secret dune vehicle that we need to do some small fab work too.

Now on to important stuff. Which one would you chuck on the windshield?

I like the lower one, but I think that if you gave the "ice"and " ream" a little forward lean, kinda like the Earnhardt 3, it would be better!
Just my thoughts.

Edit: my wife thinks that you should stand the 'K' up some to make the slash more dramatic.

Read through this whole build today and yesterday. Awesome work and congrats on the truck. Looks killer.

What a weekend. Going back to our roots for dunefest made it soo much more enjoyable. Didn’t get the sticker made cuz adam and I were too busy making hot rod work.

Rich showed up at my place last Wednesday. We knocked frame landing pads and bent up the roll bar(required for dunes) and started figuring out the wiring. Thursday he took off and headed to Adams where they knocked out a lot of little stuff. I was able to change the oil in my k5, grease and fluid check, trailer bearing checks and rewire electric fans. I loaded up first thing on Friday and am started heading up. Rob and I convoyed to a nice local brewery for lunch. We ate then I took backroads and helped Adam and rich finish things up. We ended up at the campground early evening We unloaded rigs and got to work on hot rod again as it had yet to start and had a leaky water pump. We ended up knocking a hole in the oil pan taking it off the trailer. After some nice jb weld and flex seal and new water pump we were ready to start it. It fired up and ran great. We did have to adjust the timing a bit but overall very easy first motor start.

Saturday we did dunes and it was soo much fun doing hot laps and beating on blazer. It took 60-70mph runs through dunes all day without a hiccup. Hot rod did awesome with paddles and was a real hit in the dunes.

Packed up and went to dunes today for a few hours did a few more laps and just tooled around. Made it home this evening without issues. I am very blessed to be to this point.

Awesome. Looks like fun times. The T-bucket is totally nuts for the dunes which makes it all the more cool. Bravo dudes!
