89 k5 Trazer build "The Dirty Girl" *Tubed front/taper, full hydro steer*

I've been working like a dog the last two weeks with my two jobs (61 hrs this week!) But I actually got something done today.

I shaved off the lower lip on the 14-bolt

So tomarrow I am going to cut off the shock mounts and clean the inside of the housing. Next weekend i'm going to haul it to work to clean the housing a little more so then a week from monday i can take it to Attitude Performance in Elk Grove IL so they can install the 5.13 gears and detroit locker.

My morning job is right next door to Attitude and my brother and I have known the owner for a few years, he's a good guy and always gives us a good deal.

Also my boss gave me a York A/C compressor he had lying around. It was off of one of his old 78-79 ford trucks. I figured out that its a short stroke. Can I still use it for On-board air? Or should I look for a long stroke one? I have heard that most old volvos with the york have long stroke Yorks.

There are two old volvos in a junkyard by my house, both have yorks in them.

great build bro. i just got done reading it. i see that manny inspired you to do this. great guy, wish that he did not have to leave the ck5 community. i cant wait to get home from this sandbox to finish my k5. keep up the good work. that olive drab color is close to what the army uses. its not the exact same though. oh, the name's Joe by the way.

A brake cylinder hone, and some drill extensions, work great for cleaning the inside of the axles tubes. Great build. :waytogo:

Yep, you missed alot. There`s no need to clutter up your thread with all this mess. Plain and simple, mannys gone.

Man see what happens when you dont go on here for a few days! Yea I did a little searching and saw what happend, oh well.

Back to the build, Im gonna order my 1410 u-bolt style yokes for my 14bff and dana 60 tomarrow, probably from high angle driveline. And I talked to matt at attitude performance about an hour ago, and were good for next week. I'm going to give him a list of what I need and he will order it so it will be ready by next week

thanks for clearing that up Ben. yeah i am always missing stuff cause i am 9 to 11 hours ahead of you guys and i also read three forums plus i work 12 hours a day and play softball for 2. so i try and cram as much as i can in.

Alright my rear axle is done...kinda. 5.13 gears, detroit locker, and 1410 u-bolt style yoke are installed. But I have to clean up the axle a little bit and paint it.

I still have to install the guardsman yoke protector.

Also here is my 1410 u-bolt style yoke for my front dana 60.
