Yea I'm still using that stuff. I could snap a pic for you. It has faded a little. It almost looks like your traditional OD now, then again there is still mud on it from the last wheelng trip . I wanted to paint the rest of the truck this year, but it looks like that may have to wait until next spring.

Rear driveshaftis on order and I will be ordering some parts for the exhaust and batterys

hey dont mean to be a copy cat but im doing this same thing and i saw that when you put the cab on the blazer frame there is a spacer between the mounts and the cab or something of that nature do you think you could tell me what the deal is with fitting the cab on the frame? thanks for your help

So I am assuming you are using a 79-91 frame? I used the rear cab mount from a pickup truck and made some brackets to bolt it in place, let me find you a pic...

Here is the cab xmember bolted to the cab

And here it is with the mounts my brother fabbed up:

The rear of the cab is actually sitting a little low so the mounts should have been a little taller. Later I will just add some thick washers under the cab

weird the rear mounts on my cab look nothing like that crossmember theyre just like pieces that stick out and the bushing sits on top of it followed by the cab its a 1982 3/4 ton so idk what the difference is and its going on an 82 blazer frame how much does the cab have to be lifted on the blazer frame in order for the front clip to line up right

I will try and get you a measurement this weekend. The best way would be to bolt the cab on the front mounts, then level the frame, and raise the rear of the cab till it is level. Then you can go ahead and make your rear mounts

Alright, I got my camera fixed so here's a progress pic. Holes are drilled on both sides for the shackle hangers

I have to get nuts & bolts tomorrow, then paint some more of the frame

i never understood why people moved up the shackle hangers it seems to me like the compressed angle of the shackles would be perfect IMO in stock position the shackle angle on my blazer is perfectly vertical and ive never had an issue. so what is the advantage of moving the hanger?

I might be wrong, but that is so you can get a little more wheelbase when running 52's. The shackle angle is alot better when you move it like that.

The front axle has been moved forward 2.5"s. But I didn't want a perfectly vertical shackle at ride height. This suspension is going to droop more than it will compress so I took that into account. I wanted the shackle to angle back a little and thats what I got right now

That sounds right to me. If you want to weld shut the old hole you can actually use the scrap piece from the new hole

My camera has disappeared, hopefully I will find it soon. The snorkel is totally done. I got the rear driveshaft back and its installed. Angles don't look to bad. The front mounts on the flatbed are just about done.

Did some measureing for seat mounts and a center console and now I gotta get some steel for that as well as the doubler xmember, so hopefully my brother and I can continue on that over the weekend
