89 k5 Trazer build "The Dirty Girl" *Tubed front/taper, full hydro steer*

Thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate it.
Looks great! Your steering looks really quick...
Yea it felt kinda weird at one point, I think I still need to bleed some more air out of the system. That's probably what was making that whining noise at the beginning of the video. Although I couldnt hear it when I was inside the cab
Congrats dude! Its been a long time coming. Get the bugs worked out so we can plan a trip here next summer/fall...

Definitly, I wanna check that place out. It's not too long of a drive for me either

Sweet truck dude, been following the build since the beginning, and it has turned out nice. Glad to see it moving under its own power, should definitely be a blast!

SWEET!!!

Good job on gettin' it drivin for sure. Real milestone in any build. Keep it up. Work out the bugs and get it out there wheelin'.

Thanks guys, I'm super excited to get this thing on the trails. Local parts store didnt have what I was lookin for so I just ordered some stuff through summit.

Hey man I am back on the air here.
I was able to keep the blazer so let the build continue. I am very glad to see you finally got your up and going. It looks great! I will have to go back through the thread and catch up with your build. Good job, I'll be seeing ya.

Glad to hear you still have the blazer! Keep working on it so we can go wheeling.

Got the exhaust built this weekend. It's 2.5" up to the flowmaster merge pipe then its 3" the rest of the way. The muffler I used is a Thrush Dual chamber. It sounds pretty good. The passenger side goes forward, under the oil pan, and then back into the merge pipe. We decided this would be the easiest way to connect the two sides without it interferring with the front driveshaft or hanging way down.

The next day I took it outside and drove it up the back tire of my brother's 1946 Ford

Here you can see the shock is almost bottomed out. I need to adjust the lower mount later.

The wood top is only temporary, next year it will be replaced with a steel plate

The exhaust exist out by the front of the leaf spring

Also I think the power steering pump is shot. I can hear a howling sound and when im driving and hit the gas, the steering gets all weird. I was backing up and punched it, the steering suddenly went right and I almost ran into my friend's car :eek1:

No problems with exhaust to drag link clearance? I haven't seen exhaust run that way, but it makes sense for clearance (as long as it clears the drag link ok).

So far so good. It's tight but there is enough clearance. I have seen other vehicles route their exhaust this way. But the only k-series truck I know of is robert97dodge on here (guy with the 1-link rear and 52" michelins)

any chance of a schematic of how you wired up the batterys and if you used an isolator or not
I'll see what I can do for ya. I did not use an isolater. My brother wired it up, I used the same dual battery kit from Jeg's that he used on his Dodge M-37. These batterys are actually the ones out of his truck, so next year I gotta buy my own :o

okay well i still dont know what i want to do i have an isolator and a marine battery selector switch that i can use to do duallies but i kinda see dual batteries as overkill unless youre trying to power up 20 kc's i think ill probobly just go with an optima

My 77 has dual optimas and 0 gauge battery cables.

Whats this word you use? This "overkill" word, just doesnt make any sence.

are rock sliders anywhere on the future list?
Definitly, for now I may just cut the rockers and weld some square tube like you did, but eventually I want to boatside it, ditch the interior rollcage and replace that with an exo-cage. But nothing till after the holidays. I'm out of money till next year and can't afford to wheel right now
