'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
I thought all 85+ trucks had the overflow canister on the pass side fender well (my 91 K5 is like this)? If not and you want to change, I got my canister from the dealer for under $40 last year.
I removed it. I didn't like it just hanging out over there sticking out like a sore thumb. I have other stuff on that fender now; battery distribution block and ARB manifold primarily.

Noticed this evening I have a power steering leak. Leaks bum me out. Have to take some time to figure out the source. Hoping it's something easy like the reservoir fitting.

No radiator for me.

This one is all smashed in on the bottom. I'm glad Summit is so quick to take care of me, but I would like to receive a functional radiator at some point.

Is that a spectra too? I only ask because I've found they pack their product like shit. Took 3 tanks to get one that wasn't cracked at the filler neck.

Spectra didn't have another one in stock so this one is a Mishimoto. I have also read the same about Spectra's packaging. I was hoping Mishi would be better. I've received a Jegs radiator and a Griffin radiator in the past without any issues, can't figure out why the radiator manufacturers can't figure out a good way to pack their own product.

I'm going to see if Summit can make a fuss and get them to improve the packaging.

@Larry had the same thing go on with Spectra packing. They are consistent at least. Sucks you got to deal with the return BS,

I now have the Sniper running with timing control. It does run smoother. I really notice when I stop at a light or stop sign. A few times I thought the truck had died. I had the same problem when I first put the motor in but I think I had learned the new feel. Now today it was a new feel again that caught me a couple times.

Also managed to scare the crap out of myself. When I first started the motor after the install there was a horrendous metal on metal noise, like the bearings were dry or something. I panic, shut the truck off and go take a look. Found the 3/4" ratchet I was using to rotate the crank setting in the crank pulley. The noise I heard was the ratchet scraping around inside the crank pulley. Luckily it didn't catch and take anything out.

It just occurred to me I drove home with the port I had the vacuum advance connected to unplugged. It's the manifold vacuum port. : doah:

Might change my IAC once I get that plugged.
