Holy cow, my thread blew up in my absence.
@skunked,
@Kay86K5 is right. I purchased 4" front springs but dealing with the 2wd 1-ton frame had me end up at about 6" of front lift. In the very beginning I had to run the tallest block I could find for the factory rear springs which was 5.5" tall. Then I a local member on here (can't remember name) had some 4" rear lift springs for $100 so I jumped on those because it was a good price and I hate running a super tall block. So I used those with a 2.5" block. Finally I got around to changing out all the rear spring hangers which included a 2.5" ORD shackle flip to replace the shorter lift block.
So now I'm in the position to need 4" rear lift springs. I like running the shorter shackle flip anyway so in that regard it's good, but unfortunately rear lift springs are expensive which is why I haven't replaced them yet. The stiffer rear suspension definitely makes the truck ride a little oddly so I'd like to get them replaced.
@GWeakland620 if I could still attend Blazer Bash, we would continue to organize it. My oldest son has been missing the event for the past couple of years so he can stay home and attend his football stuff. He's not the next Tom Brady so if he has any hope of getting playing time, he can't be missing practices and stuff. It's hard to get someone that can take him to football and school while we're gone. My youngest son starts middle school next year which will be his first year of school sponsored football and missing practices and such will be a bigger deal for him too. I really hate missing their games too so that's another bad thing. Once the kids are done with high school in 7 years, we will be able to start coming again.
I'm enough of a geek about my sons and football that right now I'm getting up at 4:30am so I can get my oldest to his morning weights/workout for football off season.
7 years seems like a lot, but not in the grand scheme of the event that has been going for 18yrs of which Nicole and I were organizing it since 2009, but attending since 2005. So 7 years is far less time away than time we spent being there.
