'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
It says beyond. It doesn’t specify what it is beyond

Which distributor are you running? The holley dual sync? That's what I have in the shop truck, which coincidentally killed another IACV in the sniper...

Can't wait to drop the LS in there. Too many other projects going on right now though.
Yes, the first gen dual sync.

@mrk5

it’s a good thing you picked up that 5.3L LS to swap in
I did?

The thread title says "and beyond". That would be "backwards".
Agreed. Except, at this point, maybe for the distributorless ignition part. :doah:

If I did anything it would be an 8.1L but it would have to be in perfect running condition and free.

I will say this even if everyone is already thinking it. Check the oil pump when you drop the pan to find the parts.

That sucks for you @mrk5.

I was actually wondering about this, could the parts make it to the pan, or would they end up somewhere above that?

Did he stab the distributor through the washers?

If the pins broken, I’m thinking that might be irrelevant

Find him a 5.3l?
