89 S10 Project

So all I have to say is it runs good till it ate the radiator for dinner. I was taking my friend for a ride going siedways down the street when something started sprayin. I had the hood off so it covered the windsheild. All I had to do was give it some more timing and it got some ass. But then this was the cause of the fluid escape .

All I know is V8 +S10 = no room . Anyone got any ideas besides bolts and no studs? I just don't know how the engine moved to hit it.

Body flex and the radiator or it's mounts twisted?

Obviously swapping the studs for bolts would help a little. Can you rework the radiator mounts at all to move it forward? Maybe the mounts aren't even tight now. I think you can buy hot-rod radiators that are thinner, but I don't know how well they cool and they are probably $$.

Plenty of S10s have gotten small-blocks, so somebody has to know the answer. Is there a lower profile water pump available with a lower profile pulley? Have you checked the body mounts? How are the engine mounts?

So you have electric pusher fans?

I need to find a good s10 v8 forum . Anyone got any ideas? But there are plenty of S10 v8's and I love it ;)

I will be looking deeper into seeing how it moved, but I have dual pushers. I called the speed shop that I like , and they have a alum unit that is the same size but I think I am going to move it forward into the front clip. Right now the radiator fits in the shroud , and the shroud is what holds the radiator tight.
As to changing pulleys I love serpantine so want to keep that the same but for sure will change out the bolts .

There's a website called S10 extremists...something like that. Sorta the CK5 of S10's.

Wow, that sucks. You could always give up and go pick up the 73-75 with the softtop:bow: sitting just down the road. Might have to worry about body damage on that thing though.
I'm gonna be in the area sometime tomorrow afternoon, so maybe I'll stop by.

body damage, HA! sheetmetal is lubricant ;)

im putting a v-8 into an s10 blazer. what did was moved the rad forward. i now have about 2 inchs of clearence and thats with a serp belt setup and the ac condensor.

Dont have any pics cause i dont have a camera. If u are using the stock 4.3 rad it will sit in the core support perfect just got to cut where the cap goes.I had to move mine over to the pass side to get it to go forward.my rad is tight against the ac condensor. I try and get a camera if u dont get something worked out.
