89 Suburban DD Build (finally a 3/4ton)

No, that belt line trim is decent but parts of the coating on the chrome piece are coming off. Standing next to the rig the trim looks fine, just dont bend down to inspect it. I decided a while ago with this thing that I wanted it to look good at a glance but that it was not gonna be a show rig. I"m still just really excited to have the entire rig covered with paint.

Sounds just like my trim  The whole truck looks fantastic though, I really like the color.

Missing a door handle still, I lost a spring and trying to track one down, looks like I'm just gonna have to order one from lmc... sigh!

Is the handle with a black push button?
I should have some here I'll PM you.

Well the engine hunt has begun! I finished my detail project of the trucks at work and I have a decent enough funds to get something started. I'm either gonna look for a low miles TBI 350 or get mine rebuilt. I'm looking for simple and easy cause I really cant wait to get it back on the road. I have all kinds of cool ideas for it, but I really enjoyed driving it stock for 5 years so I can get it running again stock I will be happy. :thumb:

I'm trying to decide which wheels to run. I have the rallys off my k10 on it now and I also have the original 8 hole aluminums on my k10. Both sets need tires. The aluminums I would clean up and the rallys I would repaint. Does anyone know of the stock aluminums are just aluminum wheels or if they are alloy mags? I was thinking if they are just aluminum I would get my cousin to sand blast them smooth and polish them but mags don't shine so in that case I wouldn't bother.

The other thing I would like to do is fix the rear sag, whats a good route? Add-a-leafs, zero rates, or some 3/4ton springs?

And I would say go with the Rallys. There's something about a nice, clean set of Rally's on a square body that makes it look just right.

Work has begun! Haha started with cleaning my work bench so I have a place for parts. The wife wanted to help so after cleaning we didn't get to far but only a few parts removed. Soon as I get a chance this week I got a couple shops to call about short blocks :D

My vote is add a leafs or 3/4 ton springs with aal if your springs are shot. Burbs are heavy. The rear aal won't make it ride bad. My .02...

Ok i was messing Around and decided to fit one of the original aluminuns on and then realized i still hadnt painted the blue over sprayed inner fenders. So one side done and now a pic with both wheels

I may be biased since I run 'em on my rig, but I love the way the aluminum rims look!

:waytogo: I'll be there in a few days so you can do bodywork and paint and throw a new motor in mine, ok? And to show you what a good sport I am, I'll let you buy the beer and pizza. How nice is that? :D

Green with envy guy. Looks great.

The 184k 350 is out! :eek1: Passenger side head gasket was shot, all the valves were intack. Pulled the heads and two of the pistons had some play, tomorrow I have to get some bolts for my engine stand so I can take a look at the bottom end.

Next is to clean up the intake and other parts that are going on the new engine :thumb:

The new engine getting ready to go in. Got the intake all cleaned up and going to put the stock oil cooler on it.
