89 Suburban is gone....added a K5 in it's place..87 V30 WONTON

I'm still pretty weak so I can do small tasks then take a break. It's a long process just getting outside and walking around the truck so not the greatest of update pics but it's coming along.

Cleaning out the interior and popping off the the hideous speaker boxes that took up foot space. Little bit at a time. (Can hardly hold the drill fn sucks)

Does this seat look like it's all the way back? I've pushed it back to a hard stop and double checked the corner speaker boxes aren't touching. Iirc the seat should almost hit the cab?

Looks like it should go farther back
Yeah I'm thinking at least another 1.5 inch or more. I know I'm fat but damn steering must be larger in the one tons
I have a feeling the belts or PO dynamat install is bunched up somewhere.

My bench seat does indeed touch the back of the cab.
The adjustment wire that goes from the driver side to the passenger side always suck and don't do much after a while.

It's weird, everything seems smooth and moves back evenly. I'm thinking there's a couple layers of matting and carpet blocking it. I'll have to look next time I get some daylight.

Does it feel like metal on metal when it stops or is it soft?

I'd say no but it's not soft that's what's confusing. I'm trying to avoid unbolting the seat to see but will if I have to.

I'm a big boy and regular cab squares with stock-size steering wheels and bench seat are no bueno for me. The seat doesn't go far enough back for my belly to clear the steering wheel. I will say this when Larry stuffed Burb buckets in his K10 I had a little more room between me and the wheel.

I already ordered a 13.5 inch wheel and adapter. I do this for all my squares, learned that the 1.5" extra is good when I'm on a burger diet.
There's still something weird about the seat position though. It's hung up on stuff or the rails are gummed up. I'll work on it tomorrow some more.

I think when I have the seat redone, I'll see about shaving an inch or so off the top of the foam replacement.

The bench in my Nova would hang up like that. I mastered the technique of throwing my right arm at the passenger side seat back as I pulled the handle back at the same time and pushing back with my legs. Usually popped the right side track to allow it to move.
