90 k5 Blazer "Jenny Lee" build (NEW GEARS!!)

This is my other project minus the canopy that needs to go to the scrap yard. It's a 3/4 ton Chevy pickup bed trailer I got for free.

A friend was driving behind me the other day and said my blazer was dog walking. When I got back home I started measuring. Come to find out that the center pin holes in the tuff country rear springs are not centered with the eyes. The guy I had put them on during the axle build flopped them around and my axle is angled. Just wanted to let you guys know to measure them springs before you bolt them on. I can't believe i didn't notice this, but I guess live and learn.

Got my rear leaf spring turned the right way. She drives a lot better now. Haven't been working on the blazer for awhile been trying to get the house ready for with winter.

So for the most part all the major stuff is done to the blazer. The only big project I have left is getting the new gears installed and that isn't going to happen until my friend finishes up another project that is in his shop. I guess its on to the little things now. I would like to finish my center console, track down some grounding issues, do some rust repair and painting, rebuild my warn 8274 and get the doors re-aligned. The wife said she didn't want to take the blazer camping and doesn't want to ride in it. That has changed the course of my build a little. I was going to get a swing down tire carrier for the rear but I think I will just fab up a spare tire carrier for the inside now since square footage is not a major concern and it will save me some money.

Took the front bumper off to paint the frame and installed the ORD bolt in gear box brace. Just have to get some rubber hose to put around some of the brake lines.

Started by installing new vacuum lines, then I started looking at some of the wiring. Found where some wires were almost cut in half by resting against bracket. Thought to myself, easy fix. Dug a little more and I had to replace the loom behind the engine, not so fun but I got it done with help from a 2x4 and some plywood.

So the mechanic called me yesterday and said he had some bad news. At a previous time in my 14 bolt SF's life the pinion must have exploded in the housing. The carrier was cracked and the spider gears where falling apart like clay. He said he didn't know how i have been driving it for so long. I told him in the two years i have owned it i have never heard any noises coming from the rear axle. Any way to make a long story short I'm getting A TrueTrac to install in the rear. :D:D

Silver lining right there.

Love your K5, nice work keeping this one alive.
