90 k5 Blazer "Jenny Lee" build (NEW GEARS!!)

Are they pretty supportive?
Yes they are way more supportive then the bench seat that was in it. The bench seat was taken out of an older truck and already had an indention from the PO. That indention didn't line up with the steering wheel and coupled with the fact that I felt like an over folded taco it wasn't to comfortable. These seats line up nicely with the steering wheel and fit my body type. This is probably one of the better upgrades I have made. I am 5'-11" and 215 pounds and they support me just fine. There are probably better bolt on bucket seat options but I was lucky to find these at the local pick and pull.

My wife was looking in the back of the blazer this weekend and said the tire took up to much room. I told her yes, but I don't really want to spend the money to buy a bumper and tire carrier. She told me she's not riding in it till I move the spare to the outside and get what I want. I looked at her and said its too much money, she was like how much and I was like plus or minus $1500. She said get one. I was like damn I love you, LOL. So after I get done with the gear swap I get to buy a bumper / tire carrier. I love my wife.

Same to you.

What bumper are you going with?
I'm thinking about getting the Diy4x bumper and tire carrier. I like the design in that it has two hinges and two tie downs. I also like that the tire is over the hinges and not cantilevered out over one pivot point. I don't like it that it is in the middle of the rear window but I can live with a little less rear viewing area.

ya I seen on FB from family and friends in coos bay there was snow. I can only remember one year of good snow when I lived there. we usually had to head up into the mountains to go play in the snow.

Well went to the local U Pull It and I found a set of bucket seats out of a chevy cavalier. The Windows where up and the windshield wasn't cracked or missing so they are in great shape, it rains a lot here. I also found an auxiliary battery box in an old 1 ton chevy truck they had pushed into the weeds. All their old chevy trucks are scattered about the yard, it was kinda like a treasure hunt.

I may have to give this a try. Did the Cavalier seats bolt up to your K5 seat brackets, or did you use the Cavalier base to bolt to your floor? What years of the Chevy Cavalier will work for this?

Most late 80's, 90's and early 2000 car bucket seats will fit on the 87-91 blazer bucket seat brackets. Yes the Cavalier seats bolted right to my 1990 k5 bucket seat brackets. I think the seats where out of a late 90's or 2000 Cavalier, don't get me to lying, LOL. I just measured the hole spacing in the 1990 k5 brackets and matched them up with a seat. I did get the seats out of a two door Cavalier so the backs of the seats fold forward. Check out these two threads, they really helped me out and I hope they do the same for you.

Got a new steering box ordered and it came into the parts house yesterday. I checked this one first before I took it out of the store. I think it will work a lot better then the last one I bought a few months back. Its still raining here and I don't have a garage so I have to wait till Saturday to put it on. Fingers crossed this one will not have any slack in the box. And I almost forgot, When my tax returns get here I'm going to order the gears I've been wanting and full rebuild kits for the axles. She is coming together slowly but surely. Thanks guys for all the help

Friday some parts came in. I bought new run channels for the tailgate glass, new glass sweeps for the tailgate and new weatherstripping for the topper. Got the new parts installed in the tailgate and started on some much needed rust repair. Didn't get to removing the topper yet, that will be for another day.

That channel looks as bad as mine was.

Got the new steering box in on Saturday. Its amazing what a new steering box that is set up right will do for the steering. I'm glad I returned the other one I bought a couple months back.
