'90 K5 - Project Betty - LS3 Swap for a DD/Offroad/Utility Build

Lied, no way AC compressor will fit. Probably will have to trim top "C" part of frame and drill holes in the side of the frame for the refrigerant lines.

Seen anybody do this before? Any suggestions of how to strengthen the affected frame area?

I think I have seen it done but don't remember where right now. Could look later maybe.
I'm about to get mine done hopefully this week. The guy that helped with the wiring on mine, has a bracket kit and uses a Sanden Compressor that mounts on the top side, so there is no cutting of the frame. Will get more info and pics when it's done.

Balancer Swap

Got the balancer swapped, here are some pics of the differences. The sad thing about this ordeal is that I bought and LS swap guide, and read about these differences and how to determine which is which beforehand, but just forgot.

Waiting on kwik-perf a/c relocation kit now.

Kwik AC Relocation Install

Got the AC relocation kit installed along with the extra accessories. It was pretty straight forward, however the instructions insist that a washer be used with the type of idler pulley they provided which causes it to be a little offset from the idler pulley above (see pic two). We'll see how it goes.

that does look real good. i'll be doin the same thing.

i like how the alternator and the ac bracket "v" out just like the cylinders.

Timeline

so whens it going to be running?

Thats the million dollar question. This remodel has been taking up a lot of my time but everybody has one excuse or another. Let's see, I still have the wiring harness, cooling system, general hoses, DBW pedal, installing dual optima's (I have made a ballastic fab dual battery box on the side, if anybody has any info on how to wire these guys together with either a switch or electrical check valve, that would help), going to let a shop finish the exhaust probably. IDK maybe October?

Fuel Lines Ran

Fuel line pics and diagram with part numbers. Thought I would include this bc it took me quite a while to decide which parts to order. It would be nice if you could buy them locally.

Fuel Diagram Update

Looks like I forgot to add the gauge to the pressure regulator

Sounds like ideally you should not. Not sure if want to take it apart if it doesnt leak bc I have already put the Tcase up.

Probably start clipping the old wiring harness. Any reference to what needs to stay? I gotta think that 90% of it can go. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATE HERE.

yea, i believe for braided stainless lines you aren't supposed to use anything at all.

but if it don't leak, don't fix it!!!

Start around page 6 in my build. There is quite a bit of info in there. All i did with mine was printed out a diagram of the computer pinout for the tbi computer and clipped those wires out of the harness. All the rest i asked about on here and got alot my clarification from Russell.
