'90 K5 "Project Sanity" Sold 7/5/2018

Fitting as I neglected to have cold beer here... :doah:

Thanks for the help, hope your girlfriend wasn't too mad you stayed as long as you did.

awesomer!
yeah the Pontiac needs its own build thread...I'm geeked about it!

I think shed rather me come home late grining with a k5 glow than come home early and stressed from work

I will do a separate build thread for it. I'm excited too, but trying to mentally push that back and keep focus on the Blazer right now.

Let me know when you are ready for some wiring brother!

That's my big push at the moment Russ. Trying to get the new lines, tank etc done so I can have you come show me how the wiring goes and stuff.

Your girl sounds like a keeper Nick! :waytogo:

I may have next weekend off , so some good wrenching should happen!

Sounds awesome, lemme know. I'll have beer in the fridge for sure... :D

That what your needing? Need brake lines too?

Not sure...the one one my ABS set-up is aluminum and looks a little different.

Should be front and rear lines going to this valve, two front exits and one rear line exit? I don't need brake lines, I have every single line for this truck in stainless from inline tube...

Actually, it does look right. I see 5 ports, and the electrical dingus between the top two.

Yup got all that...should be good!

So I took yesterday and today off work because of back spasms...and Nick (bix) had today, tomorrow and Sunday off. So I decided to try and work on the Blazer today carefully and Nick came over to help. My back actually felt pretty good all day...definitely still having issues but feeling better.

We got a bunch more stuff done. Now all the brake and fuel lines are out, and Nick cleaned and wire wheeled most of the frame from the front shackle area back to the fuel tank. I got both the rear shackle brackets removed, and got started on the POR 15 in the gas tank area. Tomorrow I'll see how much more I can get POR-15'd and get some pic's up here again...

Glad to hear the back is feeling better and you're using the time off working on the rig... :waytogo:

But, as you know....these posts are worthless without pics. :deal: :shame:

:tongue1:

Yes...pics.

None of you have ever busted ass for days on work that needs doing, yet isn't photo worthy? A lot of work done but not much visual progress. I will snap a few though. i'm painting what I can with POR 15. Got one coat on the gas tank area. Gonna get out there and second coat that area and first coat everything else...then about all I can do is tidy the bat cave while that dries.

Once past this portion the DIY4X shackle flip gets bolted on, all the SS fuel and brake lines can be run, gas tank remounted, shock relocation from DIY4X can go in...etc etc.

The goal is to be able to have Russel here for wiring and stuff for the 5.3 ASAP

I get a lot of days like that. Put a bunch of hoses on it for the steering. yeah!

Put some steel lines on it. Yep, exciting.

I went through that when I was fabbing for a living. You'd bust ass all day, or many days in a row doing all the invisible but necessary prep work on the job while the boss gives you the stink eye because he doesn't 'see' progress. Then the whole thing gets put together in a few hours, and he rains down praise. I always made a point of tellin him I worked just as hard the previous few days...

Anyhoo, I did manage to do something I haven't done in over 5 years. I got stupid and got a tiny bit of rusty crap stuck in my eyeball. Kids, wear your safety glasses! 5 hours at the hospital the main piece is out but i have to go back in 24-36 hours to see about the rust ring. I will likely have to miss work again on Monday due to this. Doc did give me Oxycodone for pain. I'll bring em back, haven't needed em and won't need them. When he said pills for pain I thought he was handing out T3's...
