Glad to hear your project is coming along, finding those keys must have been great!..
While we are talking tailgates,I bought one for my Burb off CL on Tuesday, off an '89 Suburban for 40 bucks!..not perfect, but it has just a bit of bubbling at the bottom that'll be an easy fix,and the power window works fine (been "opened up" before and I'm sure the tracks & rollers had some "work" done to them, but it works OK,better than the rotted out one I have on it now!)--this one has a good window with the defroster printed circuit also,as does my original gate..
Only bummer is the guy didn't have a key for the lock/window switch,--if the one on my old tailgate works with the key (haven't had time to try it yet) ,how much of a bear is it to swap out the lock cylinder/switch??..worth doing,or is it a PITA??--if its too much like work I'll use the switch on the dash --I grabbed that off the parts truck too, mine sticks in the down position)...I may not put the "new" tailgate on until spring,no sence in letting it rust all winter sitting in my yard,right??..
Rene, that yellow bed looks pretty nice, seems a shame to carve it up!..I was hoping to get the inner wheel arches off the Burb I got the gate from, but they were already rotted almost as bad as mine are..

I was thinking of using that expanding foam inside the quarters frrst and then putting galvanized metal over the rotted area with pop rivets..its on the inside,so I dont care what it looks like!..I just want to keep the outer wells from getting salt blasted and worse than they are already..
