'90 K5 "Project Sanity" Sold 7/5/2018

If you can`t make the factory shroud work...could you save it for me.
Mine is all broke on the bottom, and I don`t even have it on right now.

I have the current shroud and one that is older, if this one won't work I'll bring em both down for you.

i got one of the universal ones from summit a few years back for a car project.wasnt too bad and you make the bend in it and then put the plastic screws through the rad to hold it in place where you want it.mine was chrome but they had different styles and sizes.

So we can expect some good updates this weekend...right!

Good luck buddy! Hope you can get a bunch of crap done to it!
If not get Dave on it next week.:D

I want a ride in it next saturday!

Need some help from anyone here. The rad I got was supposed to have 1 1/4" top barb, and 1 1/2" bottom barb. Instead it's 1 1/2" top and 1 3/4" bottom so of course my fockin hoses won't go on. I'd take the focker back, but I've already got my electric fan mounts made up and stuff, and I'm not gonna re-do all that work again.

Does any company out there make adaptors or reducers at all? The clowns at the performance place I've been going to tried to sell me one of those stainless hose kits. I opened it and the "rubber adaptors" are not sized as advertised.

I can't be the only one to ever run into this problem...

I've checked summit so far. Gonna browse Griffin's site and stuff, but if anyone can save me some time I'd be very grateful!

I had a similar issue getting the cummins hoses to reduce down to my small block radiator, they were a napa part number, reducers, here is rockauto stuff, the part numbers might cross??

I gotta reduce the other way, my rad fittings are larger than the hoses from the engine.

Not sure if it'll ever help anyone else...but a lower hose from a 6.2 works on the bottom. The WP end is a bit big, but should be fine. Upper hose I got a flex hose 1.5" at both ends and 22" long.

Now to mount and wire up the electric fans.

Some installed pics. Now I gotta wire the fans...hopefully it goes smoother/faster than the rad install.

Fans with the brackets I made. Maradyne dual fans, push 2800cfm and come with a variable controller for on/off temps.

In the truck finally...:doah:

Reading the wiring instructions next, once I get this behind me it's on to exhaust. I did fire it with open headers, mostly to annoy my neighbor behind me. Miserable old coot...

I had the same problem with my radiator. I just took my hoses into the parts store and compared then to their stock of hoses. I managed to find two hoses that are the right sizes with the right bends. I can find the part numbers for you if you want to get rid of those flex hoses.

Sure thing...the flex is OK for now, but if there is something better I'd use it.

Now that Daves bike is clean are you guys going to work on the blazer at all, or just BS and drink? :D:popcorn:

Probably BS and drink...:haha:

I don't want Dave to feel like he's gotta get all greasy working on my POS while he is on vacation. Hell, he was already cleaning up garbage for me this morning.
