Fun day today. We drove the Hunter Lake Trail, which apparently is typically impassable at this time of year due to high snow level. However, this year the snow was only about knee deep at the lake.
First impressions: The 5.13 gears are bomb!

Sucker crawls fantastic! I also forgot how much I love these SSR tires. Truck did really great.
However, I had 2 problems:
First, my driveline angle on the front is too sharp, and the CV yoke was binding.

I'm going to try clearancing it a little bit and see if that helps. This would only happen when I got on the throttle, so I'm going to check my tranny mounts to make sure it's not flexing upwards under throttle. I'm wondering if I should've just gone with a non-CV shaft.

Anyway, that was a bummer and made it such that we really could only crawl SLOW.
Second, I didn't take "bouncing" into account when measuring for my rear shocks, so they're a bit too long and I bottomed them out a couple times. That really pissed me off. So, again, the slower than necessary speed was a must. To account for it, I'm going to run bump stops back there, and I'm going to drop my axle-tube shock mounts down a touch to make it better.
Otherwise, I was real pleased.

The suspension works really really well, and I think I'll be able to let out my limit straps on the front a little bit.
Also, "alexsdad" joined us on this trip as a passenger. Was real nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of while trying to diagnose my problems.
A short distance from the trailhead, looking back towards Reno:

At this point, we ran into "owenst7" coming back down from a short overnight trip to the lake.

I didn't take pics of his truck, because I never did ask permission and I try to pay attention to that kind of thing.

This is "owenst7's" girlfriend's dog.

Cool rock formation further up the trail, near the lake.

Back at that cool rock formation, sunlight was a bit better.

This photo isn't really a good representation of the suspension flex, but I was on the limit strap, and into the fender. The shocks were basically bottomed out in the rear. I could get a bit more flex out of it, but this photo makes it look like less than it actually was. Either way, cool photo.
