So I got this base covered finally for the last time. Just the front two for now. 7100s with the slower of the options valving setup. Should be decent I suppose. Now I actually got the entire valve train as well. Of course Comp and their sneaky ways require special valve retainers for their beehive springs, which of course are 10* locks vs the stock 7* . So more expense as well. But whatever.

So now I have everything to put the engine back together with the new 24x reluctor wheel except the L21 sensor itself which is dumb expensive. I modified the intake for an 200?+ LS7 style PCV setup with the PCV being drilled into the intake in the cam valley for air. I built a shroud around it with packing in it to minimize oil vapor pickup the 8.1 is known for.

And then I found this on sale. So I dropped the back shocks in favor of this. I'll run cheaper ones probably for now. As I do need to spend some time creating a base tune for this engine.

I'm hoping. I really like the LS tunability and reliability, but don't want to deal the the 8.1 stuff because it's hard to find. CNP swapping a Gen 6 454 is super easy because it was a factory GM option already .

get it together? curious how she runs...
