91 K5 -Procrastination Build - bikini top!

Knock on wood, no flooding. Water seeped in about a foot inside the doors but that's all.

It's been a while since I've looked through your thread and all caught up now. Looking good. Can't wait to see the cage put in. Working on mine right now too

I was showing my wife pics of your truck topless about a month ago, using it to sell my top chop to her. LOL :thumb:

Haha nice! I had a 91 Blazer just like yours prior to this one I have now and the full convertible is the way to go. Makes a world of difference. You won't regret it

I want to do it real bad but I'm getting a little worried about how the body will act afterwards (even when tied to the cage). This is one of those mods that could either be the best thing you've ever done or it could ruin the project. :doah:

The biggest hurdle is getting the owner to work on it.

Beyond that, I need to build a bridge or do something to the tcase crossmember to clear the driveshaft. After that just give it a good once over checking for forgotten / unfinished stuff.

The remaining cage parts will be here next week so I want to knock that out before wheeling with the kids.

shake down before the summer is over? my neighbor has been talking about wanting to go over to bogs and boulders, his build is taking about the same time frame as yours :doah: :haha:

Most definitely do some summer runs. What's the neighbor building?

I have a battery powered sawzall, a couple batteries, and a charger if you need me to just come over and lop it off while you're not looking. :D

You guys are so nice and helpful. Thanks.

I've decided to install the cage first, then cut the roof. After reading a bunch and talking to Rene in another thread I think I'd rather wait. Rene experienced a lot of body movement and sag after cutting the roof without ever no moving the truck. With that in mind I want to put the cage in first, get it finished then tie it to the tub (inside). After that I'll look at cutting the top. I want to be really careful with this, the top chop could be the best mod ever or ruin the project.

That said, the remaining cage parts from Kert should be here Wednesday. :woot:
