I'm embarrassed to say that (as usual) I haven't done much. It's not been neglected though, each of the 3 projects I've got going on needs to be first so I've been tinkering trying to figure out which gets in the way the least so I can make progress without going backwards mid stride.
I want to do the cage first because I've always wanted one and I'm dying to finally see it BUT I quickly saw the "A" pillars will get in the way of the windshield work. The cage will also either need to come out to spray the liner or be in the way if it wont come out. Stop, start over. The windshield frame is ready to weld in but my buddy that's going to do it is real busy so I've been waiting for a good opportunity to get together. Stop, start over. For the last couple of weekends I've been working on the floor, prepping it for the liner. Lots of time spent with a heat gun peeling up big sheets of what I'm assuming is factory rubber sound deadening mat from both front floorboards. I've always felt very fortunate that my K5 was virtually rust free based on what I see other folks on the board struggle with but I'm finding lots of little spots on the floor that need more attention than just scuffing. No real rot but still small places to deal with, bed liner prep is time consuming and tedious and reveals lots more time consuming and tedious work. Anyway I'll keep working on the floor until my buddy is ready, then I'll stop long enough to do the windshield, then spray the liner, the finally build the cage.
Cliff's notes: Wordy post is wordy, not much progress.
Got a meeting, back in a few...
