Wow my 2'' lift Deavers measure 53.5'' eye to eye with them mounted on the back of my blazer. I might be in the same boat muddybuddy is in and try mounting them using the b52s all the way forward and leaving the front hangers in the stock location until I can get better measurements. Maybe I wont need to move the front shackle hanger as far forward as I thought.

Muddybuddy if your interested I have a set of 4'' lift alcans that came off the back of my friends blazer, they measure 48'' eye to eye not mounted.

Are you measuring your springs straight across or following the arch? I went straight across.

hey nvrenuf, did you re-locate your axle farther forward by drilling a hole in the spring perches, or how did you move it so far forward? I have my b52's in the most forward position, w/ the 3rd farthest hole from the back, and my axle isnt that far forward, thou i wish it was.

No Zero Rates or redrilled perches, just the B52's & 52" spring swap. I thought it looked like it moved a lot too but I didn't do anything special. Keep in mind I could still move the B52's forward another inch too. :dunno:

For comparison's sake here's mine. Stock height 52's & b-52s all the way forward. shackle mount moved forward. It's weird, it actually looks like my truck is sitting taller.

ryan yours does look taller and his angle is steeper so his would be a little shorter once he gets the angle fixed....that doesnt make any sense

Your looks similar to mine before I cut the fender fang off, I could barely pass my hand (flat on the tire) between the fender and tire.

I just checked and mine measures 9" from the tread (new) straight up to the center of the wheel opening.

hmm.. dont mean to jack your thread with a bunch of my pics, but here is mine, w/ a 40" irok, and like i said, i have the b-52's mounted in the most forward position, with the springs in the 3 most forward hole. Maybe its just looks farther forward cuz cuz you're running 42's, and its causing an optical illusion for me..lol

i redrilled my perches 1" so my axle is about 3.5" forward. im trying to get my axle as far forward as possible so the 42's wont fight with my firewall

Cory I certainly don't mind the extra pics, we need them to help get a better idea of what all these combos will produce. It's amazing the differences in these trucks even with similar set ups. :doah:

I measured them straight across but they are on the back of my blazer with the weight on it.

Ira, could your springs actually be 56's? I think the actual length measurement comes from following the arch.

You know, it's times like this that make me wish we all lived in the same genral area so we could see stuff 1st hand and maybe get trucks together.

I couldnt pass my hand between the fender and tire. The radiator support wasn't attached yet and I shoved some wood in there to get me enough clearence to mount the tires and roll the truck around. I will measure from the tires to the fender opening tonight. Im also going to try and get some better outside pics tomarrow.

Sorry for the hijack: muddybuddy is your pitman arm hitting your u-bolts or u-bolt plate with the axle that far forward? I'd like to move the axle forward more but I'm worried about it hitting, I think i could safely move it anothe 1/2" but i dont know about 1". Its already 2.5"s forward

no it doesnt hit, but i havent flexed it out completely. im running ~7" of lift and once i fix the shackle angle it will be mostly droop

I would post yall some pics of mine, but I really don't think it would help. I am running a complete homemade front spring hanger, & stock 56's. My front fenders are cut so much it makes it hard to tell how far my axle is pushed forward, but I think it is about 3-3.5".

I dont think they are the standard 56'' because they measure just over 54'' along the arch and its roughly 27.5'' from the front eye of the spring to the center and 26.5'' from the back to the center. I ordered these custom springs from Deaver over 4 years ago and all I told them was they were for a blazer and I wanted 6 inches of lift. I guess I need to just go take the wheels off and snap some pics so you can see.

Ok I measured today, 9.5"s from tread(also new) straight up to the center of the wheel opening. But later I was thinking about it and we should measure from the hub to the fender opening. Because there could be variations between the tires, afterall they don't actually measure out to 42"s.

Or better yet we should measure from the axle housing to the bottom of the frame. I will try and get some better measurements later this week

... so I could buy some 47's! :woot:

I may regret buying these 'cause they are :eek1: B-I-G :eek1: but the opportunity was there so I jumped. :dunno: I figure if they break too much junk I can always sell them for enough to get another set of 42's.

Sorry but not much else to update; I bought the tires, welded on an ORD steering plate but not much else.

I definitely have some :hack: to do.

you guys should drop a plumb from a common rivet hole in say the factory bumpstop and then measure to axle centerline.

Compare that to a factory rig.

Jealous! Better invest in some longfield cv axle shafts

good idea, may have to do that this weekend
