I didn't think about you being off hunting, I forgot.

Are you working in town still?

Yep. Trying to get this school finished in west mobile. Drive right by your house everyday. I blew the horn at you couple weeks ago. I was running late and you were waiting to pull out onto cottage hill at the neighborhood entrance about 7am. It was about a week or two after your surgery.

I was taking my daughter to school (Causey). I hate I didn't see you, is have pulled out in front of you. :D

It looks awesome! I dig the valve covers too, I like fabbed aluminum. Take it for a drive yet?

Sweet, I bet you are excited. What kind of headers are those? They have thick flanges. What does the collector look like? They look like they deserve some stainless header bolts.

Good job man, I want to see it move now! Congrats.

Thanks! I really like the look of this motor more than my previous ones. For me, the polished aluminum really pops.

I have driven it yet. I was about to leave with it Sunday when the NEW a/c delete pulley died. I'm going to get another this week and drive it Saturday.

The headers are Sanderson #BB8's. I'll post the thickness info when I get home, I also have an uninstalled pic I can post too.

Here's a pic of the headers before I installed them (the first time Jet Hot coated them :doah: ) -

From Sanderson's site -

* Primary Tube Diameter : 1-7/8"
* Collector Diameter : 3"
* 16-Gauge Primary and Collector Tube Thickness
* 3/8" Thick Flange
* Patented Flange Design Requires NO Gaskets
* Tightest Fitting Header Available Anywhere!
* Made in the USA

Sounds great and looks to match. Good job!

Well I replaced the bad a/c delete pulley and drove it today! Of course, it was the worst day to drive it - lot's of rain. It was fun though, the new motor feels really strong so I'm very happy with it. I've got a few issues to work out though...

** mild DW only once but I have a ram that should fix that.
** lots of vibration from the rear driveshaft, I'll have to measure for shims.
** my carb seems to be way rich (it was previously mod'd for a hotter motor so tuning is in order).

Anyway, just wanted to say I actually drove it. :woot::saweet: :woot:

Awesome, sounds great

I basically have all those issues still also :haha:

Kind of got the d-shaft issues sorted out, and the ram fixed the DW

Carbs are rocket science to me :doah:

Hope to see you sometime at a SE region event

x2! :doah::doah:

It would be fun to see folks at an event. You way down in southen part of Fla right? Don't they do something in Ocala yearly? Maybe some day... :D

Yeah I wanna explore that eventually, I'm hoping to be in your area more so than Florida

If all works out well I'll be around the Murphy NC area this summer

Really, with your truck? There's a park about 1.5 hours noth of me but after that you've got to travel at least a few hours. I don't know of any in Ga.

Yeah I'm hoping to have my truck, I don't mind a few hours drive, being up there gives me about an 8 hour head start from where I am :haha:

Theres one called durhamtown in GA, doesn't seem that great though, If I'm going to drive 8 hours I miles while drive a few more for a better park

I want to try to go a big event where the rock bouncers are at. My main weak point is the 30 spline stubs, once I upgrade those my truck should be pretty solid

Plan ahead to come up next Thanksgiving, there's always a big event called "RBD" at Morris Mountain. Officiall, the park has closed to the public and is only doing private events now (similar to Gray Rock) but I've heard that there will probably be a few big events that you can pay to get in to.

Just a little update... I finally got the steering resevoir hooked up to the pump and the coller installed. Here's a list of parts and the pics -

In my search for an oil resistant hose for connecting the pump and resevoir I contacted a friend that works at a local hydraulics store. He said I'd be safe using "EPDM" hose. hile googling I found that Summit Racing had some in various sizes so I grabbed these -

After cutting off 80% I put them together to make a hose that goes between the resevoir and pump -
