91 K5 -Procrastination Build - bikini top!

 I had not, I'll check that this evening. That would also solve the issue of making a "nice" way of routing the cables thru the floor.

@Kay86K5 the shifters are just under 5.5" at the knobs and the overall height is 14.5".

My base body is 3.25" wide, 1/8" less than the pic BUT it's just under 4" from tip to tip of the pivot bar nuts.

Thanks much! I just placed my order for my shifters from JBfab about an hour ago...should be here next week!

Same style? (buggy vs billet) Do you plan to recess it in the floor or mount it above? I know that's hard to answer before seeing it.

I built this platform a while ago to hold my ratchet shifter for my 700r4:

bottom plates and main top plate made out of 1/8" and the tubes are 1". I just bolted this thing to the floor and you would be very surprised how stable it is...my boys use it as a step to get into the back.

And I have had a JBfab cable shifter for my SYE241 for the last couple years (billet style) bolted to it:

So when looking at the shifters, I was trying to find the easiest route to go to still be able to use my shifter mount. NWF makes nice cable shifters, but I would have had to cut a whole in my mount and most likely cut out some of the tube underneath since the cables run "under" the mounting surface. JB's billet style (like my current one on my SYE241) in the triple stick configuration would be very close to not fitting on the platform with the ratchet shifter on there and how it mounts. Then I saw his buggy style one....and it should work perfect!

I will say, as soon as I put a cage in mine, no matter what, getting in and out of the back seat sucks...there is just no way around it really, but it's a price to pay for anyone wanting to ride. So I say make the experience more comfortable for the driver and front passenger as much as possible (aka, taking @skunked advice and make it so it's not so annoying to shift all your levers) because to be honest, the driver is going to be the one in the vehicle the most...I wouldn't worry about the passengers as much. They will be happy just to hang out in such a bitchin ride for a day...that's just my $0.02, take it for what its worth (which isn't much, haha)

I really want a set of their shift knobs for my triple sticks.

I decided to order a matching shift knob for my 4spd and found a discount code for JB Fab on Pirate - "knobs15". Changed my $35 knob to $28 (+ freight). No idea how long it'll last.

Any updates on the cage install? Did you get a complete kit, front and rear?

I'm ashamed to say I have no real updates. I've been buying parts off and on but have not done any real work to report. I let it sit for a looong time because we were/are busy and it just seemed like nothing real is happening at 4-5 hrs once or twice a month. I'm really getting the urge to just drive it again so I may go against my grain get some guys over for a work day to knock some junk out.

That said, I bought the front cage kit and then rear kicker bars (?) with a cross bar at the C pillar. It will have the same outline as k30blazers cage but I plan to triangulate my support bars a little different than he did. I'll have someone local do that.

Understandable, sometimes time is the hardest thing to come by. I'm looking forward to seeing how the cage comes out on yours.

Get out for maybe 2 hrs couple times a week. That's how I have been making progress. I haven't had a long day to work on it in forever. I asked for all weekend to work on it for fathers day.

Aaaahh!! All this pressure! Why are you people pushing me?!? I need a safe place!! :yikes: :snowflake:
