91 K5 -Procrastination Build - bikini top!

When I went in to the shop last weekend the Blazer was still there. :D

I know right?! Get those funny looks when you come sliding up to a light. :rotfl:

Honestly, I would have liked to have bought a front vs rear cutting brake but I've never seen one that locked.
That is exactly what i'm going for, curious how you run the lines and everything.

Actually I want it for the dirt and a cheap parking brake.

It could leave now, I just don't have the seats mounted. Or a windshield. Or the t-case shifter mounted. Or...

The cage is still... there. I'm still trying to figure out how to poop $300 for tubing 2 months before Christmas. :doah:

Why not just turn the handle backwards?

My plan is to put it by my right hip and run braided lines through the floor (via tcase shifter cables hole) and splice in to the line. My old truck had a Parker ball valve that worked really good so I was planning on going that route but the valve is ~$20 vs this thing for $40 and it's BLUE. :D

Hard to beat the ebay specials.

The handle on this will swap around, I plan to turn it and mount it so I push the lever forward to lock it. It seems like I'd get more leverage pushing against the seat rather than pulling it towards myself.

What I meant about the typical cutting brakes was that I like the dual in & out set up so I could apply either the front or rear independently (apply front to dig the rear tires down for winching or apply the rear to do a front dig for tight turning) but I've never seen one that locked in position for use as an ebrake.

I was semi trying to be funny, I know what you mean. I just want it for sliding around and locking on a hill if I can make that work. Maybe pulling it back and a ball valve will lock it? I don't know why but sliding around a big truck sounds epic to me.

It can be a lot of fun and it can be pretty scary. LOL Here in the land of rain it can get out of hand quick. :yikes:

Slipping, sliding and tire smoking is fun but I've never been a fan of going really fast (like desert racing) in a big truck, I'm always expecting the DW to kick in and the truck look like the tumbling capsule intro to the Six Million Dollar Man. LOL

Yes I know exactly what you mean, every time I hit the highway I wonder when it's going to happen.

It's funny how you can spend a FORTUNE on all the "right" parts and build everything perfect but that holy chit moment from a DW experience 25 years ago never lets go. LOL

300 for tube, sounds like you are getting about 3 sticks. I hope to be getting started on the full vert swap then roll cage. Need to pick up abor 8 sticks of tube first.

Yeah, planning on 3 sticks. I’ve got a Diy4x kit so I’ll just be adding (wait for it...) triangulation. Hopefully, there will be some leftovers for a traction bar set up.
