That style of “roof” is what I intend to add but my daughters head is roughly even with the halo of the cage. Bending the roof braces like that will only gain the dia of the tube.

Hopefully that plus lowering the seats will create enough room.

Fwiw, I checked and it's 37.5" to the bottom of the rear halo tube.

I got busy last night and didn't get a measurement, but I'll try and get you one tonight. But your headroom looks pretty similar to what mine is just from the pics.

To be honest, I'm going with @blazinzuk and saying just try to work in some harnesses. Also, just add padding to the areas of tube that could get somewhat close to passengers heads. I literally just went and bought a swimming noodle from Walmart, cut into sections that would fit, and then zip tied them onto the tubes right next to the driver and front passenger heads. My kids are little too, but as they get bigger, I will add the same thing to the rear tubes too.

Just my $0.02

For information sake real roll bar padding is actually much denser. If your head contacts the bar in a violent manner real roll bar padding will make a difference.

Just bumping your head any padding is fine.

Agreed. However I think you need to determine how you really will use your vehicle. For faster situation like a dune truck or if you are really thinking about the safety of driving down the highway at 70 mph and you want it to hold up to a fast rollover, I think the denser stuff works the best. But for a slow rock crawler, in my personal opinion I would rather have the softer padding. I bought some of the denser stuff when I first built my cage and freaking hated it as mine is a slow crawler that is a trailer queen. So I ditched it and got the soft stuff and am much happier. I also work under the assumption that while I have passengers in the truck, I don't do stupid stuff. If it looks like it's going to get dicey, I make the passengers get out, I put the full harness on, and try to put on a show

To each their own though. Some people want different uses out of their truck then me

Too many monies. :yikes:

I’d love seats like that but I cannot bring myself to spend money like that on seats. If I had it to freely spend, I could easily blow $5k on a Lomax 205 but I would struggle with $1k for seats. :dunno:

The padding I bought from summit is pretty cheap and the seam has tape to keep it together. It's also made so that the non seam side that faces toward the occupants is thicker for more protection.

If you want something specific let me know.

Ok, looking at the seats more I can probably lower it 1.5" pretty easy. As you can see in the pic, the claw feet in the rear are approx 2.5" tall and that's what they are sitting on in the truck. All the feet unbolt so Im hoping I can fab up some mounts about 1" tall. Still need a little more but it's a good start.

LOL exactly! :rotfl:

It's alright, it looks awful but it's still good enough for one of those Coverlay plastic glue on covers. Of course the dash pad is loose in the pic, that's why the VIN hole doesn't line up.

The A pillar bars look like they're a mile away from the windshield frame but it's only about 2.5"- 3".
