But in the meantime you're not enjoying it while building the perfect car.But if you build a car to try it and you don't like it, you still have a car.
Plus, why would you not like it, it's like a full size go kart track.
After doing some more reading, i’m going to try it and see how it does. I had to order some more engine oil from amsoil so I snagged two bottles of their coolant boost.@folkenheath Do you have any thoughts on running straight water with water wetter or something similar? How do temps compare to a 50/50 coolant mix compare. I know there is no freeze protection, but wondering how it would be on the street

Cool, temps definitly are not a problem with the bigass dewitt alum radiator I put in it already. 240 bucks worth of brand new Gates cooling system hoses just got delivered today.I think you could get a minor temp drop with that setup, and the track would like cleaning that up instead of antifreeze a lot better. Hopefully you don't test that, I would replace all the hoses since they are all suspect from age. Also flush the radiator and heater core, maybe water pump replacement while you are there?
I have a rather fast Regal I can drive in the meantime, it's just not setup for road courses, its setup to go straight.
I think I would buy an older muscle car with decent paint and body and upgrade the drivetrain and suspension, doesn't have to be perfect.
First I have a Blazer project I want to finish.
In the middle east we all ran straight water, and I would say our temperature is comparable to Vegas if not sometimes a tad higher.Cool, temps definitly are not a problem with the bigass dewitt alum radiator I put in it already. 240 bucks worth of brand new Gates cooling system hoses just got delivered today.
I plan on Sunday’s track coolant douching to be my last. If something does happen again I want it to be water because that coolant about spun me off the lot and that was at only 40 mph. I am signed up for two real track days in nov and dec.
It does drop below freezing in the peak of winter, but it is in the garage and I can keep a 100 drop light under it if I had to.Does it drop below freezing in the winter there? Does the Amsoil coolant boost have any corrosion inhibitor in it?
If you are running a thermostat it probably won't change much unless you are running quite a bit hotter than the thermostat is rated.
I have all the stuff from Moates and tunerproI would put a thermal switch in the head that turns on the fan on at ~185. They aren't that expensive and it could probably trigger the factory relay.
Heath, I have a nice 76 with a 401/th400. I can bring it up on my next trip!So a 1978 Wagoneer?
