93 Corvette LT1 6-spd

Finally got the cooling system put back together. I eliminated all the tees that route coolant through the throttlebody so that allowed me to run regular 5/8” and 3/4” bulk heater hose like a squarebody. Only issue was the expansion tank has 1” fittings so I was waiting on a silicone adapter to allow the connection. Got about 3-4 gallons of filtered water and two bottles of coolant boost in it. Was running around 183* on the test drive.

Even before I got coolant on the rear tires,
the car was very easy to oversteer and I wasn’t even trying hard yet. I dropped the pressure from 36 to 30 on the advice of some fast guys. Didn’t help very much but they are cheap chinese tires with a 360 treadwear rating. The best my class allows is a d.o.t. 200 t.w. rating. I walked around the pits and this is what all the fastest guys are running.

I have two of those and some wheels on the way. Should be here friday which is awesome because Sunday I have another run!

I would bet the tires will make a huge difference, they certainly do in drag racing.

You will probably want them on the front, I wonder if will go from understeer to oversteer with those tires on the back?

It will be interesting to hear your experience!

That’s exactly what I’m hoping for. If I can get it to understeer, i’m much more familiar with that type of handling and feel I can be faster than it is now. Add more front as needed. At least that’s my thinking anyway!
