94 Z28 coupe

Is that ebcm repairable? They have any history of bad solder like the body control modules?

Same era, so I’d suspect the suspect solder. Basically, they are replaceable as rebuilt for $300 if the pump is good. But I’m getting really close to doing the delete...

Well you have a newer one. You know the brakes on these are still better than 90% of most cars

I’ll try and do all the easy things to see if it works. If not, why not?

Oh no, I see that delete kit price tag. Won’t take long to blow that up using factory parts. But Two weeks ago I was gonna sell it. If I was positive it was a forever car, I’d be done already

Well the preliminary test of cleaning all the stuff and trying again didn’t change anything. I’ll check all the wiring tomorrow

Abs will be deleted

When I got the Granitelli MAF sensor years ago, it ran ok at WOT, but surged at idle. Since I knew it wasn’t the torque converter, I put the GM MAF back in

From the old 94 I had, I retained the stock MAF, so I have at least one shot to do surgery without messing up the one that came on the car. Looks like the sensor part of the MAF from GMS, is just a stock replacement with a fancy aluminum housing that’s oversized

The surging is either the sensor reads wrong, or the factory computer is adding fuel to sort the extra air. A simple surgery will see

So the granitelli sensor was just a repackaged socker with a bigger opening? Wow.

I’m kinda thinking so. I mean, otherwise what’s so special about it? Not like you can change the air reading

That's the thing, the ID of the gms unit being the same, it's not really letting any additional air in. By the look of it, it's pure snake oil.
