94 Z28 coupe

On LS's there's a plug by the left kick panel that you can ground that bypasses it. Also, if it's the key that's a problem you can wire in a proper resistor to the column wires.

There are several threads on ls1tech on how to resolder the bcm's, I've had to do it to mine. Although again, I'm not sure if it's ls specific or not. There's a relay that was cold soldered on them that caused problems.

Wow that's like every radio/door lock malfunction ever recorded in an F body. I guess hunting for the BCM was the correct synopsis...

Power windows/locks, radio coming on/off and vats problems are all tied to the bcm - at least in the later cars.

Although, the newer cars also have a component of vats in the pcm. One of them controls the fuel pump. One of them controls the starter. At least in later vehicles.

Yeah it didn't say specific to anything but the 97+ era stuff, but the theory on the BCM is the same. I'll pull it out and take a look, I'm sure its the same issue

did you know 96 was the first year for the BCM?
Mine has a similar module, the RAP. Even listed in ye olde service manual
In my hunting and probing for the BCM, I started pulling all the control modules out and cleaning them

That’s crusty
Yeah that’s what’s sent me down the rabbit hole cleaning all the connections on the car. Amazingly it’s a Colorado car that’s always been taken care of

Somehow got corrosion past the plug. Dielectric grease was in shortage in 1994

Other than the toothbrush what are you using to get the corrosion off?
