94 Z28 coupe

Looks like the GMS is 10mm larger inside and no center bar. According to the Tech one, it’s seeing 25% more air at the same RPM

Yeah poor thing has been sitting too much

Couple laps around the block and a burnout into the driveway. Haven’t G tested them yet :haha:

Took the Z for a spin up the county road using the stock sensor in the aftermarket ends of the MAF. Cleared up all the idle surging, but not a huge gain over the factory one. 5-10 maybe

Did see I’m getting 2-3* of knock retard, running about 36* under a hard pull. Didn’t see spark advance over 44* at any point

So question for all those savvy to GM VATS systems
I have what is either a bad or damaged BCM (radio and door lock issues). I'm down with repairing or replacing it, but not interested in having to take it to a dealer to do the key BS
Anyway around that?

On LS's there's a plug by the left kick panel that you can ground that bypasses it. Also, if it's the key that's a problem you can wire in a proper resistor to the column wires.

There are several threads on ls1tech on how to resolder the bcm's, I've had to do it to mine. Although again, I'm not sure if it's ls specific or not. There's a relay that was cold soldered on them that caused problems.
