Bunch of random photos. Had to reinforce the storage bin structure to mount the sub box.

1/0 ancor battery cable was no joke. Almost needed a full 25’ for positive. I swear it looks well routed in person, that photo is screwy.

Had to go red/black, couldn’t bring myself to throw yellow in there and clash with all the stereo wiring.

Amp wiring came out awesome, but somehow I missed getting a photo.

Discovered a broken impeller housing, hence why it was eating impellers. New one tomorrow.

Besides that, installing new fuel lines, custom fuel sender, cleaning, name, CF numbers.....almost ready for the weekend!

Need to read up on trim tabs. The old trim master ones are seeping, and don’t really seem to be rebuildable.

Cleaned the outside, put on CF numbers, put on new name.
Immediately covered until the proper renaming ceremony on saturday morning, wouldn’t want to piss off the gods of the sea!

Got the ecm scanned today. Only 305 hrs. Thought for sure it was in the 4’s

Watch your battery cable routing.

Oops. Totally my fault. Luckily the cable was still long enough. Didn’t burn off, just through the insulation. That’s he piece I cut off.

Replaced the fuel pump, built a trailer slider, and found a gash in the bottom I hadn’t seen before. Will patch it up tmr.

Yep, I did the same on our malibu. The ski boat prop guards work really well for dragging and sliding though. I can't even count the number of times i've had all 4 wheels off the ground on ski boat trailers with no prop guard wheels. The donzi one was a sharp point, that dug a nice v ditch in a friend's steep driveway.

That was mainly why i added the slider. I pulled it down the driveway on an old cutting board under the point, and it worked great last time. So this should distribute the weight even better, and only has one bolt in it so it can pivot to off camber situations.

Yea, that was a new drive way that we just poured. Entire weight is on the back two skid wheels at some point. Sure glad I added them!

Hey Paul,
Any normal places to develop engine loose electrical connections on these mercruisers?

Mine is hesitating under impact, like crossing waves and stuff. Has done this off and on since I got it. I originally thought it was fuel related, but now it’s only when the boat gets jarred. Recently replaced fuel pump, cap rotor, coil, wires, plugs with no improvement. Checked ECM connections, all look good, except the front side of the ecm connector is a bit sideways looking.

Wonder if the ign module itself is going bad. I can check pet numbers, I bet it’s the same one from my Burb.

Also, is there a fuel pressure regulator or anti drain back check valve on the fuel system,

Boat tends to start easy and then stall. Starts right up second time every time.

what do you mean hesitating, actually cutting out? won't be fuel related than.... if you suspect a fuel prob, take it for a run with a pressure gauge hooked up to the rail.. should have a schrader valve up front.. your regulator should be in that cool fuel module, where the vac hose runs to...

It cuts out and drops Rpms, but doesn’t die. Come right back up. If I’m cruising at 4K it will drop to. 2 or 2500 then come back to life.

Its so closel tied to impact now I really doubt its fuel.

Any idea where I’d find that beast?

No changes to gauges or dash, so I’d expect it to be in the engine bay.

I do some hunting around the firewall. I just checked the connections at the ecm, didn’t see any other major ones, but I’ll hunt for this one now. Thanks!

it looks like this.....

should be a bracket at the back stb side head, that, that plugs into the other 1/2..... it has a hose clamp that sits in that recess there, and clamps the 2 together...
