96 s10 blazer, getting a 5.3L

So I finally trust my welding and front end work after blazer bash, The wheelie led to the front end coming down pretty hard. In the second pic you can see the tires pancaked and the hood buckled. It moved my front fenders back too. Other than the little bit of body damage, a fan bolt touched the radiator and put a hole in one tube. Patched it up and hasn't leaked since.

oris are $1300
Poly bumps $20
All 4 links with threaded inserts $400, they are way more now
ballistic joints, front truss, battery box was around $600
ruff stuff front link tower and adjustable frame mounts where around $150
I bought pretty much everything on sale over the coarse of 8 months. Plus some small things like bolts, weld washers on everything, shock tabs. I did find a place called allensfastners.com. Great prices and services. I think I had around $2500 in parts for the for the link stuff. Then there's the full hydro and exo that happened at the same time. And all the free labor involved. I probably have 5-6 hours just with a tape and on the computer with the link calculator.

I thought it was pretty decent priced. Biggest thing is all the geometry is figured out already. I did a ton of reading all over the Internet and came to believe that a guy can really mess up a link suspension to the point that leaves would work better. I do really like the ori's for a trail rig, not sure how that would look on their kit though.

So the ORD kit for my truck is really not that much different price wise.

I've given their kit a good once over a few times and came to the same conclusion. It's right in the ballpark for a one stop shop kinda setup that already has the major bugs worked out.

Good pics, big wheelie! I like how in both pictures the passenger is all about grabbing the nice o sh!t bar!

Thanks, it was a fun ride! I stole that handle from a ford Superduty one day at the boneyard so the wife can get in/out. Lucky he doesn't still have it in his hand after how hard he is clenched to it. That is our buddies kid who is a senior in high school. Took him a second to get his color back after we landed. Lol

Here is the whole vid of me wheeling it a little bit

Nothing to new. Sold my house up here in Mt and supposed to be closing the end of month on one in CO. Then I get to remodel the inside. I did manage to break a 14 bolt shaft the other day. Took the Detroit out too. So we turned it into a welded Detroit.

Nice, not too common to see a 14b shaft let go. Were you bound up or were there other issues going on?

I wasn't really bound up, there was snow down too. I think it was just the last straw. I've pounded on them way worse before. Here is about exactly where I was at. Guys said my pass rear caught some traction, but my drivers let go. So not really sure what happened. Just it's day to go I guess.

I was making and order with Scott (MrK5) for our club logo steekers and going to have him thow in a "GM of the Month" sticker for myself too. Well Scott here wanted one too but didn't have his GMotM certificate handy for proof of earning it. Scott (MrK5) said he would check in on it then said Steve Fox went ahead and sent him another copy. Here you go Scott, here is your certificate. Thanks Scott (MrK5) for getting everything straightened out for us :waytogo:.
