96 s10 blazer, getting a 5.3L

Going to use Eric Westover's buddy up in Idaho. Goes by voodoo injection. $550 for harness and tune. Little more $ than 150tunes that Norby used, but don't want to end up with the time line he did

Cool thanks.

Got started today. Got the harness, ac pump, pwr steering pump, egr and other not needed stuff off the 5.3. Then got my harness out of the way, tbi, intake(tbi to vortec) uploadfromtaptalk1393723664811.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393723684076.jpg, head bolts pulled and exhaust bolts pulled on the old 5.7. If anyone is in need of and tbi stuff let me know. I have spares off all the sensors, 7747 comp, distributor, coil. Will be getting them listed in the classifieds next week when I get them cleaned up.

Make sure you take really good notes so you can do this swap on my crew cab really quick & easy.

Got this in today to plug the steam port line into instead of tapping the water pump. Figured this would get the steam line back to the top of the system. Also I can splice together my old radiator line and the 5.3 one instead of trying to find one to fit. uploadfromtaptalk1394753090905.jpg

I was hoping you'd have this swap done in a week so then I figured it would be realistic for me to do in a month. Maybe I'm going to have to plan for 2 months.

Not that I'm doing it anytime soon...

Now that's funny. I've spent a handful of time parts searching. I couldn't find a really complete list of parts so I've been trying to keep one here. When you're ready just order my parts list, buy some beer and pizza and I'll come hang out for a weekend and we'll get it installed!

Just a quick thought I had this morning, what do these motors use for power steering pump? Been thinking about upgrading mine, but don't want to do it if it won't swap over.

Not sure I can go look at the one I took off. I'm not using it because of my full hydro if you need one. It mounts the same as the my old 5.7 with the 3 bolts in the front. Even has the stud in the back, just isn't used.

I reused my remote res psc canned pump that bolted to my old factory mounts on my bbc to my lq4. I am using the goatbuilt pump brackets but they use the same pattern a the factory lq4 mount too just moves it up higher so the uca clears it at bump.

Got these from ion today, smoking deal and fast shipping if anyone is in need. Also Conversion Motor mounts on, clutch and flywheel bolted on, egr plugged, fuel line adapters on and oil pan dropped to get the broken off part of the dip stick tube out. Also found the rubber part of the gasket separating from the metal so a new one is on the way. Was a good day between dropping the kids off and picking them up from school.

Got the motor put in today and bolted up to the tranny. I had to drill some new holes into the conversion motor mounts I bought, but I made them work until I can build some better ones. The only things I had to cut out of the way was my lower cross member because of the bigger oil pan. Also my orbital wouldn't let the motor drop in so I cut it out and will remount it a little further outboard. Now just to get the rest put back together.
