97 sas'sy Sierra/ 80 Cheep 10: tales of a phat block

Well my fans quit working again, hadn't taken my old one back in for warranty yet.

Did some testing, the temp prob was good on the old one. But hooped on the new one. So we swapped that out, and Bam!! The fans work.

Also while doing so we noticed that we had both fans hooked up on one power wire just off the main plug of the fans. So we fixed that as well :rolleyes:

It was still a cold morning, so I pulled the fill plug out of the 14 bolt only to find the oil slushed up. So I dropped that and re filled it, putting drain plugs in the diff covers were the ticket :thumb:

That is all.

I wonder why the gear oil was doing that. Did you have a different weight in there than normal or something? Maybe it was just time to change it. :dunno:

It was 85 140, I usually use 80 90 but it was all the store had. It's been in there a year, and it's seen some deep water. So it was prob time

Yeah 80 W90 is what I normally use. I didn't know if yall had to use different wieght gear oil up in Canada because of the cold or not. I've had mine get turned into chocolate milk before after the truck sat overnight in a water/mud hole. It was gross.

Has the snow finally stopped up there yet? Guess it will soon be time for the mosquitos and biting flies to come out. There already getting bad down here.

It's starting to look like summer. Still a little wet for seeding fields round home though. Some lakes still have a fair bit of ice left yet.

That would be a sight for me to see. It's been cooler than normal here this year, but it's still going to get up to 90 today. Last year it topped 100 in May. Some ice doesn't really sound so bad actually. I'm sure you're about ready for some nice weather though.

Went wheelin last night, got a couple short vid's:

One thing I noticed is the hills looks flat in the vid, but they is pretty steep actually :haha:

I also managed to break One tailpipe hanger, and the tack's let go on the other tip. Guess I gotta fix um :doah::rolleyes::waytogo:

That did look pretty steep actually. I'm sure all you were seeing was hood and sky for a second.

Man that exhaust sounds good too. Yeah.

It's all gravel pits and trails where I grew up. It's nice to have a 5 minute drive to some good wheeling :woot:

Doesn't sound to bad for a set if purple hornies :thumb:

Drove it a few days this week, took a break from working on the Beaumont and went for a lil trail ride last night.

Fans quit working, well the relay fell apart I think may be the culprit this time. So I plugged my handy jumper wires that are on a switch in and gave er beans.

Went hubs deep:

Found an old tire drag in the old part of a gravel pit that some quads were attempting to pull, so I hooked on put it in bull low and jumped out for a pick as it idled around :pimp::haha:

All the pics look like little red Xs to me. What's up with that? I would like to see the action.

I wonder if maybe you should go back to a mechanical fan?

They show up for me just fine on both my phone and computer. I'll have a look see I guess later.

I found a temp probe switch from summit that's on/off at a pre set temp I'll prob end up ordering that.

What part number does the mopar one kick on/off at, and whats the part number?

I would like to have 2 different ones for 2 different temps on mine. Just dont feel like ordering from Summit and been feeling lazy lately after being in Indiana for work.

That's way cheaper than the becool one.

On another note my death wobble is back, way more often than before. Gonna order a spring and bushing kit for the kingpins. I shimmed the one side 2 years ago and it's starting to show now.

Might also take it on a road trip to the lake this week, haven't been a hundred miles from home with it for a few years so I hope it'll make it!
