Buddy of mine got back to me, has the "416" heads on a lower mile 305 with a hatched bottom end. Not HO heads, but close enough. Should be a bit better than the truck heads.
Why couldn't you convert over to a tow-piece gasket setup while you had the pan off?

Intake looks pretty clean. Maybe you can paint the valve covers while you're waiting on the Alberta ****er to bring the gaskets and grommets back.
I'm not familiar with the people of the various provinces of Canada, but I'm starting to wonder if those Abertans are all a bunch of trouble makers.... if what I'm reading is true...

When I went from my 305 to my current 350 this summer, I ended up using one valve cover from the old 305 because I wanted to use the later model air filter or something (I can't remember). So I now have one black valve cover and one orange one. If someone says anything about it, I'll knock 'em out!![]()
