97 sas'sy Sierra/ 80 Cheep 10: tales of a phat block

:doah:You shouldn't have said that. Now it's going to crack! Mine's all cracked up but I couldn't care less. I wonder if leaving the windows up helps. Or window tint. I think it's just sudden temperature changes that crack it. Who knows? I'm not sure how you can keep your truck looking so perfect anyway. I bet your hair and clothes are always perfect too.

:haha: You called it I do like to look presentable, and that includes my vehicles.
but as far as the dash goes I don't do anything special other than some armorall wipes a few times a month.

Its not an uncommon thing around here to go from -35 degrees celsius to +5 than back again in a couple days. Its only got 2 cracks, unlike my 83 which crumbles everytime I look at it :haha:

Well just got back from the junkyard, got yet another steering box that hopefully wont leak and picked up a set of like new windstar fans. They are clean enough a guy could eat off them if he wanted :haha::rolleyes:

Went home this weekend for a car show, I brought the 67 down.

I only managed to change the steering box on the ton, however I had the tailshaft housing loosen and fall off my car on the way home. I sourced one bolt for it and had to limp it fifty miles

I did however snag a neat pic:

Thanks, and you betchya it is :waytogo:

Hahahahahaha. I didn't know yall knew about that in Canada. Of course, I've seen pics on here of trucks in California and Washington and Oregon with rebel flags too. Who knew? I think it was the Dukes of Hazard that brought the stars and bars international acclaim in the early '80s.

The town where they filmed the in-town shots is just about 45 min. to 1 hour north of me. Haven't been there in a while but they used to keep it looking similar to how it did on the show. There used to be TONS of orange Dodge Chargers with the 01 on the side and the rebel flag on the roof driving around every town in GA. There's only one in my town now. Guy works at the Goodyear tire store.

My wife's a huge fan of that show. She's seen every episode numerous times. She even has an old white Jeep with an air horn that blows the same song as the car did when the Dukes would jump their it. She's never jumped her Jeep though. Just going through a paved parking lot in that thing will liquify your guts in about one minute. I don't think the Jeep or the driver would survive a jump. :haha:

The Fall Guy didn't have Daisy Duke. It was almost quasi-believable though. Almost.

If we want to go there...... how about the A-Team?

Well I had to look after the farm for the weekend for my rent's. Didnt get much done, got the fan's mounted/water pump pulley bolted on w/studs. I just remembered now that I forgot to snag some pic's

But I did finally get to ride my Tri Z good and hard :thumb:

Update:

Finished fan swap, changed dash pad(slightly less cracked n faded meow), changed pinion bearings/ Rear u joints.

I wired the fan with a Hayden 3651 control unit, lucked out with the rad as it had a 1/8 npt hole. Only thing I have to do is switch the fan shut off from the switched 12 volt wire to the hot wire :doah::D

Figured Id go for a test bag, ended up on the nearby river. Ended up sticking i in some bottomless river silt. Took a few trees and the good ol' Warn to get me out :haha: I had to pussyfoot around while stuck as there was no chance of another vehicle getting down there to tow me :doah:

Fan looks good. Hopefully you won't have any problems with it.

Too bad you didn't have your 3 wheeler on the back so you could just unload it and go get some of your buds to help you get unstuck. Of course then it might have gotten stuck too. :doah:

I remember one time on this farm I got a Kawasaki Mule stuck in some mud by a little stream, so I walked back to the barn and got my old Toyota truck and drove down there to pull the Mule out. Well wouldn't you know, the truck got stuck too. So I had to walk back to the barn (about a half mile) and get a tractor to pull them both out with. Then of course I had to walk back and forth two more times...

If I had only had me a Warn back then.
