Finally ready to wheel........almost

The only problems I have is the steering box is leaking where the rag joint is, and my fog lights only work for 5 minutes till they blow the fuse.

Also buddy in his fargo waterlogged a starter. Other than that was a good night of wheelin. I was pushing water over my front bumper in the 5th last pic where my bud was backing up. We have had one heck of a wet summer so far it seems.

Looks like a good time was had by all. Is that trail normally under water like that? I always get nervous going through deep water, especially if there's a chance that it may rise some more if I get stuck. At least you had more sense than I usually do and took a buddy along to help if you got stuck in a water hole or broke down or something.

Thanks, no the water isnt usually that high. We've had a pretty rainy summer so far and not to mention lots last fall. Its usually only been half that deep going across. Lol!

Well decided some better tow points/tie downs are in order. So i picked up some 20,000 lb ones for the front bumper, 11000's for the rear and some 1200's for the deck to tie stuff down to.

Also decided that I'd like to recess the bumper/winch back a bit to help with my approach angle, also cut the crappy tow hooks that are on there now. Not sure when if ill be able to get around to it before the snow flies though.

D ring's is on, snagged a mint lookin steering box from the pick-a-part today as well. Maybe toss it in this weekend if I have time.

This thing is sweet

To solve your problem with the water hitting the fan and going all over....get some electric fans from a ford windstar, when you come to a water hole shut em off get threw it and flick em back on, plus it keeps the engine bay pretty clean as well.....

Ya they are really nice to have. I always have played in the mud and hated the muddy water all over the engine compartment, since the E fans, i just hit the switch and no more muddy engine compartments.

Ones to keep your eye open for are out of a ford windstar. They are huge, i belive the primary is 16" and the secondary is around 12", i could be wrong but oh well. You can also go as far as hooking up each fan on a seperate switch so you can run one or the other or both at the same time. They fit the radiator very nicely, Check out my build thread I belive I have info on the install, ill double check.

Swapped out me leaky power steering box for a non leaky one. Got some old lumber strapped on the deck, finally taking it wheeling saturday........

Well back from wheeling.

Clutch is either cooked or full of slew grass. I believe grass considering there was a bunch of it hanging off the clutch fork.

A rock had a fight with a front rim and won, so guess I need a new one.

Cooked a starter solenoid.

So maybe this weekend Ill be pulling the trans out to clean the clutch out.

Looks like some good damage there. You must have been hauling butt through a field or something. I did that one time and my radiator got clogged up with sand spurs and the engine started over heating.

The rock found its way in from one of the holes, than eventually wedged between the caliper and rim.

Guess we will see when I get home this weekend if i have to tear it apart. It was driveable when I left it sunday sort of. Hoping it dries out and works decent, but the odds of that happening are slim.

Also the water pump started leaking, kinda funny that it idled about 5 hours that night. Than once it cooled down the next day, it started leaking when we winched it on my buddy's deck truck. I had left it in gear and we winched it about a foot, than I popped her in neutral and the rest is history.

Was it an aluminum wheel? I've had rocks get stuck between my caliper before but thankfully it never did anything like that. Just made the truck steer funny while I was braking.

Sure is aluminum. I could here something making noise while I was pulled out of where I was stuck. Once the we pulled it out, it sat for a hour till I went to move it. Guess it must have lodged itself than. you could see the rock had let the rim spin a few turns b4 it grabbed.
