98 k2500. SAS'd and bobbed.

I was eyeballing a '96 K3500 cab and chassis dually I am servicing here at work tonight. I think I need one. 7.4L/NV4500/fixed yoke output on the t-case and dual gas tanks. Plus it has the narrower dually rear end. Would be a sweet truck with a ford super duty dana 60 up front and a nice narrow flat bed. The one on it is a wide dually bed and looks like shit. Carry on please!

Started hacking away at the wiring today. I’ll only be keeping a handful of wires out of the old harness to pin into the 411 pcm.

One nice thing about pulling the ABS unit is it frees up a 60A circuit in the factory fuse box. I’ll probably use that to run my aux fuse box for fans and all that jaz

Knocked out the brake lines today and prop valve mount. I just modified the stock lines and put on new nuts and flares. I love this Eastwood flare tool. I haven’t had a single one leak yet.

Tomorrow my bumper should be here. I’ve been waiting for that to bolt up my suspension brackets since they share the same bolts. Then maybe I’ll put an axle in. Or the engine trans. I’m not sure what I want to do first.

What prop valve did you go with again? Just curious for future reference.

Ive got that same flare tool. By far my favorite

That’s a wilwood because I caught it on sale. Summit racing has a knock off for half the price I would have gone with otherwise

Trans and transfer case went in today. It’s super easy to put a trans in with no engine or front suspension in the way. The 205 just clears the floor. I had to cut out the exhaust heat shield which doesn’t matter because my exhaust will be on the other side. I may do some hammer massaging on the floor in a few places. I won’t know for sure how it fits until the engine is in to locate the trans angle. Rear drive shaft looks to be about 67" over all. If I keep my 2 piece I will need the rear shaft cut down. I have 36" from the slip yoke to axle. I guess ill have to call up tom woods and see what they recommend I do.

I think 2” forward may be a bit much. I’ll have to move the axle back to stock holes on the spring perches. Other than that I think it looks damn good. Taller than I like, hopefully the engine, fuel tank, bumper and winch will settle it down a bit

The truck I looking great! You work fast!

The off-road design kit already positions the axle forward about 2” by itself. You will want to move the axle back to the center hole in the spring. What lift springs are those? 4” ?

Thanks, I have nothing better to do with my life than spend all my free time in the garage building money pits.

The kit says 1" but it looks a bit farther than that. Also the rear end being way lower probably doesn't help how it looks. The springs are 3" tuff country ez ride

Just to give you an idea, this was my 3/4 ton suburban with a 6.5 turbo diesel. I used 4” rough country springs and those are 37” tires. It ended up a bit tall for me.

Truck is looking killer. I so wanna SAS one of these trucks one day

Thanks. I know I probably shouldn’t say this but I think I like theses trucks more than the squares...just more room underneath and inside and less rust.

That thing does look tall. I hope mine doesn’t end up like that. 2” front springs are always an option too. I want to keep the roof below 83” so I can fit in my garage

Looking at your front springs, those have way more arch than mine. Mine are almost flat when loaded. well they were in the square and I cant imagine the 98 being any lighter on the front end with a big bumper and extended cab. I guess we will see
