Morning Fellas,
I've been doing some behind the scene work on the inner fenders on my off time. Trying to fit these big old balloons around the engine cage work you'd think would be fairly strait forward, but none the less, has been one of the most un-fun jobs I've done on the rig. Nothing really to measure off of, has lead to some bigger cuts, some ugly cuts and a good amount of some tack, tack sip.
I have the passenger side a lot closer now. Still need to do a bunch of hammer and dolly work on the patches and where I'm reforming the the rear bottom portions to flow with my fender cuts. The drivers side was a little easier as I made some beer box templates and should be able to do a lot less patch work around bad cuts. I still ended up off on my shock mount, but the bars came out a lot better than the drivers side on the initial install. As you can see, on the drivers side, I haven't cut or reformed around the fender cut/ slider mount yet, that's this morning first project. Hopefully she slides back around the slider to engine cage bar much better after.
The plan is to put in a full weekend, Have the inners done, or close too. Fenders and door gaps perfect with all body mounts and shims snugged down, hood installed, need to notch the rear most hood brace to fit around the back engine cage, and lastly do the necessary notch on the front grill so it will fit around my winch mount free spool thingamabob.
I'd love to see her, in all her glory with the front clip back on by Sunday night, with nice panel gaps. That's the plan anyways.
Couple pics and some bonus pics at the end to keep the dream alive.
