A VT Build

True.

Plus without lights, how will you be able to see what you're doing while washing your greasy engine parts in her sink?

:)

:usaflag:

Maybe you can compromise.....she gets lights and you get a stainless sink/parts cleaner combo!

Yeah, it's been insane around here lately.

Now the wife is asking for power and lights in the kitchen...geeze. :doah:

Just remember that if momma ain't happy, no ones happy!!!!

At least thats how it works at my house.

Get the inspector out there to see that the concrete is cured.....then BUILD, BUILD BUILD!!!!

Gotta get that framing done, it's getting c-c-c-cold at night. :)

Yep. :D

We had our first frost last night.

Not blazer progress per say but still good stuff happening.

The garage trusses & materials landed on site the other day.

Contractor should be here either Sat. (doubt it) or Mon. (more likely) to build the walls and trusses are scheduled to be set on Tuesday.
Should go fast once those are in place.

One small blazer issue has been resolved however.
I picked up a factory 4spd tilt steering column from the other board a couple days ago which will now allow for a floor mounted cable shifter that's 4spd auto compatible.

No worries, we work straight through winter up here...regardless. :p:

May not get insulation this year but it'll be weather tight soon enough.

Blazer comes down next week and put in the new shop space. :cool1:

Both of you guys are making me jealous of all the garage time. Although it's inspiring me to go clean mine up this weekend.

Weekend went good, progress pics as of Sunday afternoon.

That's a 6ft ladder against the wall for reference purposes.

Trusses go up on Tuesday, although it looks like rain/snow Tues/Wed/Thurs of this week, wish they had scheduled for Monday.
(for safety reasons)

Nice to see the guild "build" progress! Gonna be awfully sweet.

Hope-in' so...

Nothing huge by any means but the space should work out nice.
16ft x 8ft roll up door on the left side with a pass-through door on the right.
Compressor goes in the far right corner with the work bench along that same wall.

Should have enough room for both blazers to be inside at the same time.

No more "fresh air kid" repairs.

The space doesn't have to be huge, heck my shop is 40 x 60 but most of it is just storing crap that I don't need - if I got rid of all the crap a building half that size would still be bigger than I need. As I'm sure you know, the key to a good shop is having it organized. I get mine nicely organized a couple times a year then I slowly let it go to the point I have to search for stuff. Hate when I let that happen. You'll enjoying having the wide roll up door. Mine is a narrow door and getting a hay trailer in the shop/barn is a tight venture, heck, just getting the K20 in and out takes paying attention as its big mirrors leave very little room on each side.

Oh, I think my above message should have said "Nice to see the good "build" progress, not guild - not sure what my fingers were thinking. :haha:

For those who don't do the 67-72 board, here's the latest on the garage build as of Friday afternoon.

Wow, that didn't look like 12-12 pitch when I looked at the truss package.

Cool shop!!

:D yeah, should shed snow pretty decent.

Managed to get a 9' 8" ceiling without having it look 'to' out of place against the house.

Lookin' good Kurt! :waytogo:

I'll bet it's a cool feeling to park Hobo under the cover of a garage for the first time.....heck with all that extra headroom you can move on up to some 49's or 54's and still fit just fine.

:usaflag:

"Hobo"??? I had no idea your blue one had a name.

Yeah it's hobo.
When I got it years ago and started digging in, Greg was like "dude your goin' after that thing like a hobo on a ham sandwich" :haha:and it stuck.

Need to come up with one for this new project now...

Never really named any of my rides over the years but these old trucks seem to like em.
