Allis-Chalmers tractor purchase. Now, The Old Tractor thread. Post yours.

Dad and I got this fired up and out of the shed a couple weeks ago. First time it's been fired in the last three years. Had to reinstall the starter that i had borrowed for my H awhile back until I could get a replacement. Ended up tearing the carb and sediment bowl clear apart in order to get it running. But it runs like a champ and fires right off just like an old Farmall always does.

The backhoe is an older Kelley 3 point mount that my dad and grandpa made the frame to mount on the M many years ago. I was only 4-5 years old (I'm 26 now) when the bachoe was mounted for the the last 20 years it had dug many holes all over the county until we got our Case 580. I decided it was time to drag the old M out of moth balls and use the backhoe just a bit more at my house before pulling the bachoe and fixing the tractor up. It's the first tractor my parents bought 30 years ago so it's not going to leave the farm, might as well use it some.

how much?

More than I can even list here. All of the tubes in our field crossings were installed with it over the years. Not to mention the various animals that needed buried

No how much do you want for it.

Oh my bad, that's up to my parents as it's theirs. If they'd sell it I doubt it'd be much. Since all it's done for the last three years is keep the M from blowing away :haha:

I've got the 1950 John Deere G, and caretaker of a 1936 John Deere B for my parents. The carb parts for the G just got delivered, gotta get that back together and going. The B has .125 over high compression pistons in it. Almost doubling the compression ratio, REALLY woke it up.

I got a 1956 Case VAC. Even though the factory that built that model closed in 1955 there were employee rewards for sticking it out until the plant was closed down.

The last run of tractors were all built by the employees for themselves.

Mine has a hydraulic pump that is timing gear driven, a flat belt drive, a live PTO, a three point Eagle Hitch, a draw bar (22.5 hp!) and a 4-speed. The only thing I wish it had was a differential lock.

I converted it to 12 volt and just turned up the field adjustment ... on the outside of the regulator, and did a wheel repair where the chromate ate the rim away. It has 24" rears, 15" fronts and a rubber torsional driver's seat.

The lights all work, including the dual red/white rear lamp. These in working condition are getting rare. There are Chinese replicas, but mine is OE.

It starts instantly and I use it for a lot of work around my acreage.

Let's see if I can post a pic here......nope! I'll get a link instead!

I built a blade attachment for it too:

..... and a very adjustable hitch assembly:

Here I'm driving it in our local Ravalli County Fair..... I think last year, but I didn't take the picture:

Here's the staging area for the parade..... I've got my spring tiller on it here:

Here I'm using the flat belt drive to run a bailer at the County Fair's tractor and antique machinery exhibit:

When it's not busy, I park it on my front lawn......."I'm ART" sign on it:

That way the neighborhood thinks it's lawn art!

Right now I'm working on my M.O.A.L. (MOTHER OF ALL LAWNMOWERS) with a Vortex 4.3 running the blade deck, to be (natch!)....towed by my Case.
