I wasn't going to go all the way through. Just on the part on the top of the tire.
Our rocks have awesome traction so you will probably be fine. I would put more angle on my center cuts though.

Also, if the tires are warm they groove MUCH easier. Also how old are they? Harder, old tires groove tough.
Note when letting the iron sit between grooving put it head up, don't let it hang down. It can overheat and toast it. I just put a piece of wood in the vise horizontally and slide the handle onto the board so the head points up.


Another 30 minutes into second tire. At this rate I'll finish in may sometime.
Still debating if I should cut the outer lugs.
Got through about 2/3 of the tire. I used the pattern eric likes. Makes a bunch of triangles and diamonds![]()

I've seen some guys cut the large outside lugs but they seemed to get torn off easier after being cut.
You may want to use them like that before cutting too much?
