Another Mystery Wire

Well, I again refer you to this thread, number 13.

http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281817&page=2

Look at the schematic of the connectors. You will see that on the left hand side, one is labeled engine and the other, front lp.
You can also see the shape of the two connectors.
One set of wires from one plug will go to the lights and the other plug will go to the engine.

The engine one has a tab at the bottom that fits into a socket of the lamp one.
The engine one is the one with the temp sending unit wire.
Its socket 35, and it will be in the same position on the firewall that it is on that schematic.

If the picture on that thread is clear enough, you should have all you need to find that wire.

If its not clear, let me know, and I can send you the jpg via E-mail.

Thank you! I see it now on the diagram....now let me see if I see it on the truck.

I found the dark green wire...I clipped it and tied in a piece of wire to my sending unit. One thing is for sure, it doesn't move anymore when I turn on the headlights...at least not yet.

I still don't know if it is working or not...I may have fried the sending unit or the temp gauge and maybe even the fuel gauge.

I spun them around with my finger and they were a bit stiff at first and then loosened up. The gas gauge did not automatically float to a position on its own. I let the truck run for 15 minutes and the temp gauge appeared to be in range, but I just can't tell yet.

I will test it thoroughly this weekend. I think that I had the automatic choke wire attached to the sending unit before...

Does anybody know if the gauge needles are supposed to give any resistance when you move them or are they supposed to be very easily moved?
