Anyone running bigger rims?

If you want lots of attention in your truck ditch the body lift trim the fenders NICE put the same 38s on it. Low trucks with huge tires get noticed. Most people don't even realize why they think they are cool they just know they are.

Yours sounds way more like a street queen than anything else. Do what you want. I think you need to get the stance corrected a bit. But I know some like the saggy ass look I don't.

I like a little sag in the back or at least level, I can't stand a rake on a lifted truck. And yes it will be streeted more than off roaded. I have a rzr with long travel and 2 cr250r that I will be pulling behind the K5.

This statement is silly and I disagree

Fender Nazi STRIKES AGAIN!!! :shame:

I used to want big tires on my tow rig. Then I got a truck on big tires and had to tow a few times. No thanks. You've got a lot more work ahead of you if you're wanting a DD on 38's that you can tow with.

I'm not opposed to clean K5's being street driven, someone's gotta keep the aftermarket companies making parts, and it sure isnt us frugal offroad only guys. Wheel plans aside, what else do you have planned for this truck?

Well I will counter that with a disagreement to this.....and I move to strike!! And those that don't agree with what blazenzuk said are those that don't really use their rig for offroad (which is fine if that is not your cup of tea, but if it isn't, than please don't comment)

Lower stance with bigger meats and cut fenders looks 10 times better than taller lift just to fit tires with no trimming, IMO. Plus, the overall performace increase is undeniable

This.

After seeing the pictures, this truck looks a long way off from wheels being the next important purchase. The thing already has 4 of them with round rubber attached.

Please don't take offense, but realistically this truck will look way worse with fancy rims if the rest of the truck isn't up to date.

This guy isn't using it for offroad he stated that like 3 times already... So it would be a waste of sheetmetal IMO. And I lifted mine higher than needed so I didn't have to hit fender at the dunes, and I wouldn't call myself someone that doesn't offroad my rig...

And eric knows im just screwing with him

High COG is what you want for go fast dune rigs I hear. :flipoff7:

Wheels can make or ruin a truck. IMO most of the new larger wheels' style doesn't flow with the lines of the older trucks, but some of them do. I really like the way KMC Diesels look and if I ever switched my truck to a srw sb I would probably run them.

I really like the way this truck looks. I think the proportions are tastfull and it has a modern look. Would I use it for hardcore wheeling? No, but that's what my k5 is for.

lol i like it . looks photo-chopped

Come up to silver lake.

I want to. I'd love to make one of the get togethers one year. Our dunes are mostly quads and bikes, which suits me fine, but I'd love to see the all truck atmosphere that you're always posting pictures of. I'm just ribbing you man, I like what you're building. Minus the hubcaps. :haha:

Wasn't referring to offroad, was referring to blazenzuk's comment about getting peoples attention, but it works for both scenarios. And no offense to the dune people on this site, but I don't count driving around on some sand as "offroad". Seems really boring to me. I have rode my 08 CRF450R in the dunes many times, and that even got old after a while. Can't imagine driving a vehicle would be better. To each their own i guess

Lol ok whatever you say.

I still see trimming fender on a street driven rig is a waste of sheet metal. But to each his own.

It's not just about driving around; theres a beach, lots of cool trucks to check out, friends to hang out with.

"Off roading" would be really boring too, if it didn't involve meeting people and socializing.

Who gives a flying rats A what the F he is doing with his blazer. If the dude wants stock 15x7 steels with 38s or chome 18s with 38s why should it matter.

He comes on here asking for advice on backspacing and maybe a picture and is told how his blazer should look to be correct......by people twice his age and prob different interests.

Sorry to offend the regulars but way to sound like a bunch of aholes to a new guy asking a question.

At least he has a blazer and came here and appears he is going to start working on it. maybe he has other cars or trucks that he plays with and new to blazers. Maybe after reading more on CK5 he will get to know everyone, but till then why be so judgemental.

Says someone from the rust belt...ha. totally different attitude out here. I dont think I've ever cut out rust. Ill cut for clearances.

I have a backyard full of sheet metal that will get cut for street or off road.

I guess we see off roading differently. I see it as a hobby, an oppoturnity to test my skills as a driver and builder, a challenge, an opportunity to get out of the office and enjoy the outdoors. Socializing was never on my list of off roading

When clean (original) sheet metal doesn't exist in your state. You tend to be against destroying it on purpose.
