Yeah, I've seen it before. Thanks though. When mine's done, I want it to be as clean as this one. However though, a 53 series is a totally different animal.

I’ve got a lot of things left to do. Here’s an update of what I’ve been working on.

I’ve pretty much got all the fuel lines and fittings ordered and mocked up. It’s AN -10 from the tank to the primary fuel filter/water separator, then -8 to the fuel pump and then -8 to the secondary fuel filter, then -6 to the cylinder head/fuel lines. Then, -6 for the return back to the tank.

I’ve got the starter painted, but that’s it. I’m still waiting on a full mechanical push button valve. It should be here within the week. Still need to find all the fittings, etc. to plumb it up. I’ve got the air tanks. Just need to weld in the mounts, etc.

I’ve found a flywheel that will work. It needs to be machined. It’ll be machined flat with with a modern double disk clutch and stamped pressure plate. Clutch should be here within the next week.

Right now, I’ve got the front pulley at my buddy’s machine shop. I’ve welded beads in the grooves and plan to have a serpentine setup machined out of it. That way, I can run one belt on the front. Still need to fabricate all the mounts for the accessories. I’m planning on running on the drivers side a York compressor for onboard air and a power steering pump. On the passenger side, I’m planning on having an AC compressor and an alternator. Can’t think of anything else that I’ll need.

I’ve got the exhaust all welded up and Jethot coated flat black. It’s 5 inch off the turbo and then goes into 6 inches. It’s just temporary for now. I plan on running it under the truck eventually, I just want to get this thing running. I still need to find a turbo oil drain flange that will fit this turbo.

Is there not an electric starter available, or do you want air start?

Well, there is an electric 12V starter available, however I need air to shift the transmission, so I figured why not. (And, I found the air starter cheap...now the fittings are going to nickel and dime me to death).

nothin like the sound of a good old air starter.

just have lots of air and make sure you will start everytime.

:woot::thumb::bow::eek1::sign29::popcorn:
No doubt. I've got a few online friends with air starters and one of them was telling me about the first time he drove his truck into town and let it sit for a couple hours. Well, he had a small leak which depleted the system and couldn't get the truck started.

I plan on having (eventually) a small electric compressor for a backup.

Hood stacks road legal there?
Well, not really. Oklahoma Statute Title 47 states nothing about exhaust exiting behind the cab, but you do have to have a muffler. There are a few of them running around here though. Wonder if a turbo counts as a muffler.

"Mufflers or other noise-suppressing systems - Prevention of excessive or unusual noise.
A. Every vehicle shall be equipped, maintained, and operated so as to prevent excessive or unusual noise. Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with a muffler or other effective noise-suppressing system in good working order and in constant operation, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, bypass or similar device. No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in any manner which will amplify or increase the noise or sound emitted louder than that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle.
B. The engine and power mechanism of every motor vehicle shall be so equipped and adjusted as to prevent the escape of excessive fumes or smoke, or both."

However, "No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sign, poster, other nontransparent material, or debris, including but not limited to snow, ice, or frost, upon the front windshield or the side wings, or side or rear windows or suspend any sign, poster, object, or other material from the interior of the vehicle which materially obstructs, obscures, or impairs the driver's clear view of the highway ahead or to either side or of any intersecting highway." So an exhaust stack may count as obstructed view. But, by that definition, this could be considered obstructing/obscuring or imparing the driver's clear view:

Either way, it's just a temp fix for now. I'll probably be driving it around for a week or two while I get the full exhaust welded up. Plus, I don't plan on being an idiot about it. I think they look badass, but I really don't want black soot all over my roof nor do I want water down in my turbo.

Any news on this? I know you were moving at a time, didn't know if anything changed.
Nothing but a few small things really. I planned to take a month of leave to work on my truck before I PCSed next month. Well, I was asked to take a jet overseas one last time, and now I'm stuck in Italy when I should be at home on leave. Oh well, there are worse places to be stuck and I have internet, so I've been doing a lot of CK5ing.

I may have posted more pictures over at the 4btswaps forum.

got bored and thought id look through the driveway builds, glad i did, very nice truck man. althought i was looking forward to seeing that valvecover pop out the hood, lol.

I wanted to, but I had a couple things going against me. First, the wife thought it was ghetto. And second, I would have had to raise the transmission tunnel just way too much. So, raising everything seemed to be the right answer.

How are the boys doing??
They're doing great! Keeping the wife and I busy. They're crawling now, but rarely in the same direction.
