Back In the Saddle Again

And it works intermittently so I can see where I am fuel wise every once in a while lol

Wish I could juat find a pair of 6x9 speakers in boxes to have behind the seats just for the trip. Seems like those are a thing of my childhood now though.
I have some of those speakers.
Not sure you can get the in time though.
When do you leave?

Leaving on the 20th but Inlose my garage today. I have a small BT speaker ive been using its ok but just not powerful enough.

I will take some pictures of mine, if you want them tell me what you want to pay and they're yours

Having a fully rewired rig is just awesome. Everything works without issue. i have 2 key switched fuse blocks. One on passenger firewall and one on Driverside inner fender. So when I redo the roof rack and get lights itll all be easy peasy to wire in.

One thing I did have to change and Ill leave this here for people searching in the future:

The switched 12v line off the LS Spark System has to be the first inline for the main switched panel. I had it in the 3rd position furthest from the source and it was super hard cranking. Had to put it in the #1 position directly affter the 12v switched source or else it was incredibly hard cranking, now I also have the earlier LS with only the rear cam sensor. If I had the front cam sensor that would also help.

Went for a nice long cruise last night and noticed if I smack the dash the fuel gauge will begin moving. So I am leaning towards the gauge Being the issue now.

And with that. I finally reinstalled my front drive shaft after it being absent for 2 years. No more BT driveshaft. I could not find the bolts for the CV/TC and with that for future readers on the Np208 they are 7/16 - 16 and the yoke on the 10b is 5/16 -24.

1276 Miles starting on the 20th
AZ-NV-UT-MT and finally ID.

Safest most populated route with maintained roads, fuel stations and shelter. If my son was older I would risk going through the passes of Northern NV and Southern ID but there are stretches without fuel and shelter for hundreds of miles that way so id rather play it safe. Plan is to stay over in around Salt Lake City and finish the trek on the 21st.

Hope all goes well.

Brake lights just stopped working, had a guy nearly pulverize his dodge pickup into the back of me on the highway. Pulled up beside me and let me know my lights weren’t working.

I have turn signals, parking and Hazards.

Fuses good.

Checked the plug and I have 12v to the orange wire on switch..

Checked the switch and then checked a new switch both good.

So the problem lies with the white wire off the brake switch down the line some where I assume.

Following the diagram the white wire:

Brake switch -> Flasher Unit
From there it relays the signal to the brakes via the flasher through the drk green wire heading towards tailights. Now, I know the lights and rear wiring is good because the haz, parking and turn signals work.

Leads me to believe there is an issue with my flasher relay. They couldnt all be bad?

One that I receievd with the wiring harness wouldnt allow my hazards to work at all. Ill try the 3rd one I have see what happens.

Next time im in a junk yard ill be pulling some old flasher relays out for my stash. These modern replacements just make me sick. The fact I may have had a totaled truck from some chinese BS just pisses me off to no end.

Yeah that is some bullshit to think about for sure. Glad you and the rig are ok

Flasher shouldn't have anything to do with brake lights. Esp if your turns and emergency flashers worked. It is just a switch, that opens and closes with temperature change.
The brake lights signal does go from pedal switch to turn signal switch. Most time the turn signal switch is culprit.
Easy to signal going in and not come out on appropriate circuit.
If the emergency flasher switch was closed and flasher was bad the brake lamps would be on at all times.
When left or right turn is selected the brake lamp bulb does light with brake switch

That flasher relay controls the signal to the brake lights from the switch. That line where 17 meets 19 must be interrupted in these other units. Unless you think the problem is elsewhere? I really hope my lights dont go out randomly. Again. But as far as the diagram goes the flasher relay completes the circuit. IMG_6087.jpeg

If you will have any trailers and easily stolen items I'd stay away from the city and airport for your hotel. I've stayed at this one at the south end of the valley a few times. More of a business park kind of area.
