Back In the Saddle Again

It was just odd when I checked the windshield fitment online it gave seperate windshields and then I cross referenced the part numbers and they were the same but for some reason the truck windshield “isn’t compatible” online anyways. They probably just up charge for the blazer haha

'88 was the first year for the new GMT 400 trucks. But they kept building 1-ton squares up to '91. Certain parts catalogs don't reflect the 3 year span of 1-ton squares.

It won't fit your blazer, but It'll fit my burb. I have antenna and tint, and bb hole. So needs replacing.

Joking it'll fit your blazer too, let me know if you run across another like that

This was the only one in Travis’ yard. I couldn’t figure out the gearing for the rear end as the truck was stacked ontop a bunch of other vehicles. There is another 14BFF out there I’m going to take a look at off a suburban.

Painted all the trim. Besides the driver side b-pillar which was beyond repair. If anyone knows where I can score one I’m in the market.

Rock auto sent me the wrong door panels so I have to cut for the electronics.

took off those stupid “rock sliders” that were held on with plumbers tape.

making progress.

Question:

There is something funky going on between this trans and transfer case.

while going at speed and coming to a sudden stop (like at a stop sign but a bit harder) something happens.

description: Activates transfer case (can hear it) subsequently lose all gears on trans until I cycle through the gears of of the transfer case and trans.

I thought it was a fluke the first time but I am able to duplicate this procedure now and have done so 3 times.

PO told me he switched from electric hubs to manual hubs.

the TH350 is not original to the truck either.

hmm anyone care to take a guess with me?

Since the t-case is jumping 2-hi through 4-hi and into N basically skipping a gear. I’m leaning towards it being a shifter fork bushing or spring in the Tcase.

Actually I’m not convinced it’s going into neutral. It may be jumping 2hi to 4hi

Ok, so, it does it on a hard take off and a hard stop. However if I hold it in 2Hi it does not pop out.

When trans in neutral it feels like it doesn’t engage 4lo as if the linkage isn’t adjusted to allow it to go into 4lo.
